The temp was finally above bloody cold for the first time in over two weeks, so I was able to finish the brake job on the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Tried to start my gf's '99 Saturn to move it out from in front of the garage door and it wouldn't start. Used the Beater Box to jump it, and as I was moving the Saturn to a new spot in the driveway a bushing in the shifter disintegrated, locking the car in 1st, while blocking the whole driveway. I hadn't realized it was stuck in gear and stalled the car.
Of course it still wasn't charged enough to crank over, so I moved the Beater box over and tried to jump it again. Ended up having to get the gf's help when I realized there is no way to get out of a car stuck in first gear to disconnect the jumper cables.
Since I couldn't back it in, drove the Saturn around the block to put it in the garage so I could figure out what broke. Got in the Beater Box to move it and the starter cranked for a half second before it packed up.
So now I have a Saturn I'm supposed to be selling that is stuck in first until the bushing I ordered arrived. And I have an xB with brand new brakes and a bunch of other work so it could get inspected & registered that is now down until I can get the starter fixed or replaced.
This was a less than great day.
