Nope your wrong it's even bigger than you think. Stock tire size is a massive 225/80r15. That size no longer exist but let see what tires you can get in the next closest size shall we?

The factory 225/80 tires are 29.5" tall these 235/75R15 are 29.2" tall

I remember when I needed new tires for my Cadillac, NTB only had SUV tires in stock in that size. I could still easily get the car whitewalls, of course, but they had to be ordered, since it didn't seem like any place was stocking them. And those were only 235/70/R15.

Because they have knobbier treads and blackwalls, and Bridgestone still made a vogue whitewall that looked perfect. It was a '90s Fleetwood, I got rid of it about 4 years ago, for space and financial reasons. The last gasp of the classic big American landyacht, all 18 3/4 feet of it.

Your telling me you didn't plan on taking that beast offroading? 18 3/4 feet in the 90's is no joke the '79 lincoln was the biggest car you could buy in 1979 and it was just a little bigger at 19 1/2 feet.

The most off-roading I did was gravel/dirt roads, and one time when I had to ford a small creek in a rural area because GPS neglected to note that there was no actual bridge.

I drove a 77' Town Coupe for awhile. It happened to have the same tire size as my 91 Ranger, 235/75R15

Buy a set of off road tires, and lift the Lincoln. You would be an Internet Hero.

Any of those tires would go well with the diesel swap.

Damn, 80 series tires?!? No wonder the ride is so cushy!

460. I think I got 7 mpg on a good day.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If I went diesel swap this would complete the package nicely. it would be pretty awesome in the snow too especially it I got the Duratracs. It would be a total tank!

Buddy the possibilities are endless. and I'm just crazy enough to do it, so in all reality this Idea has about a 25% chance of coming to fruition.

My choices are:

-Leave suspension stock

-build performance/track type suspension

-bag it

-lift the beast
