those aren't shifters. they're racing kart frames but without a sequential gearbox attached to the engine, it's not a shifter.

That looks amazingly fun. Sadly though limited to those people who live in the sticks.

Not necessarily. When I raced dirt oval karts I drove an hour to the track from the city. Some people drove as much as 4 hours from a neighboring states to get there. The track was in the sticks, but that doesn't mean you have to live there.

You are correct. I just have a bad habit of calling this style of go-kart a shifter kart. Whenever I talk to people about go-karting unless I say shifter kart (even if it's only one speed with a centrifugal clutch) they usually think I'm talking about the local kiddie kart track.
