Just got home from Mooresville NC where I picked up my new 2015 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium from Randy Marion Subaru to replace my 2014 Elantra. I feel like I got a great deal, and really liked the people that I worked with.Subaru really improved the CVT over the last gen Outback, and it feels as though gearshifts are actually happening. Also, the new Starlink system is leagues above any other infotainment system that I have ever used. The sound system is also great for a no name base model speaker setup. Anyways, I am so totally in love with this car, and although the white wasn't my first choice on color, I really like it, especially when the light hits it just right.
This picture was taken with 3 miles, it sits in my driveway now with a bit over 100.

Thanks, we put a deposit on it on the 24th, and it came off of the truck on the 26th, so they immediately put a sold tag on it, so that no one would test drive it.

We don't have the car yet, we're having remote start installed and my parents wanted to take possession after the first of the year for tax reasons or something. We're picking it up Friday.

Ok, well then good luck with it. Sorry if I was a little harsh on the fusion in a comment on one of your previous posts. I'm sure it will be more reliable than the 200.

It sounds like your family was quite helpful to her. God knows what kind of electrical nightmares, and transmission troubles that thing would have experienced.

Word of advice, register yourself and your car on MySubaru . It's great for keeping track of service intervals, recalls, scheduling services with the dealer, and a bevy of owner resources. The free " Subaru life " badge is kinda cool too.

I have to admit I was a little weary of the 9-speed. I want to trust Chrysler now that they've made strides in every category, but a new first year transmission is just a scary thought.

Thanks, I can not go into too much detail about the Elantra, as I still have it for about another week, and I don't know if Hyundai is monitoring me, but I will say that the lemon law is a fantastic thing.

It seems like a vast improvement over the last generation, but time will tell. Is she tech savy? If not, she may not like it due to the starlink system, as it is basically a tablet in the dashboard.

Are you going to pull my move - switch it to synthetic oil immediately? I always thought - GAAAHHH, there are bits in the engine from manufacture. Drain the initial oil and go Mobil 1. But that's just me. Did it w/ '87 300D, '91 CRX Si, '97 SHO. Never regretted it.

It's got synthetic from the factory. I've got a small independent shop that mainly specialized in Benzes and BMW's, but has a subaru trained mechanic which I will be taking her to for all of her regular maintenance.

Yes, it is standard. The Mid grade model that I got has a slightly bigger glass iPad like screen, whereas the base has more average screen. Also, all models now have a backup camera.
Heres the base model system
Here is the Premium and Limited System (mine doesn't have the map tab since I didn't get navigation.)

I'd do a change now, just to start fresh. Lots of people had trouble with the '97 SHO 3.4 litre V8 - mine was flawless for the nearly 100K I drove it. Probably a delusion, but I'd like to think it's because I took care of it early.

In good old Canada, they still sell the stick shift, but honestly, even if they had sold the manual here, I probably would have still gone with the CVT, as I really would not need my mom messing it up trying to drive it.

Thanks! It's been great! I was a little skeptical about the CVT but it's been super smooth, perfect easy going DD. Seats are super comfortable. It's been averaging about 29 mpg in regular driving. It's my wife's DD and it really makes me want to buy a Subaru when I'm up for a new car in a couple years.

Ya I'm definitely going to take a good look at the Legacy. While I like the Outback, it's just way more than I actually need in terms of size/utility, especially with already having the Forester (we don't have any kids). I love that, regardless of what Subaru you go with, they all have awesome visibility (which makes driving on the highway much more relaxing).

The shop I work for does a lot of business with the Randy Marion dealers. We also do Subaru Concord and South Blvd. My wife wants to replace the Kia with a wagon and it's almost definitely going to be a Subaru. The VW is simply too unreliable and if we are going to be bringing a child into the world I don't want something that could be potentially unsafe.
Plus our parent company is the OEM supplier of Subaru leather - for cars built in the US - so it's very good. And lifetime warranty, too.
Good choice. Nice, comfy, unique, and reliable. They sell almost as fast as they arrive.

I work for Classic Soft Trim , which is a division of Roadwire/Distinctive Industries — DI is the OEM supplier for Subaru NA. We're in Charlotte, right down 85. It's about 90 minutes or so. About 90% of our business is dealers but we can get you in. We only do installs here so if you want to steam and hog ring it all yourself, you'd have to order it online.

I'd defiantly have y'all do it, because if I attempted to do so, I'd probably somehow find a way to make the car spontaneousouly combust. We could probably get into it for a little less than that. Our retail for single color is $899+tax and that includes replacing any cloth on the seats, console, and door panels with our leather/vinyl.
