The guy essentially showed up handed me the money(15 crisp $100 bills) and I signed the paperwork. He didn't even take it for a spin to make sure it was ok. By far the easiest transaction I've ever dealt with.

Every transaction should be like that..

When I sold my Super Coupe the guys that showed up were going over it like I advertised it as a Concours resto. Then they tried beating me up on the offer they originally made me.. I wanted to throat punch both of them.

It can be hit or miss though.

Today, I sold the topper from my truck. The guy showed up early, waited 45 minutes for me to show up and didn't even try to haggle. He even had his own tools to swap it over to his truck.

A family friend used to run a Continental kit... on his '95 Chevy C1500.

nope it had a full tank of gas. I filled it 2 days ago. I'm probably the best kind of seller there is honest and won't keep any secrets.

When I sold my '89 Supra Turbo the buyer showed up with his "mechanic" friend. This "expert" poked holes in a couple of flex hoses then asked me to reduce the price by $1000. I told him to pay in full, now, or the car would be sold to someone reasonable. He did.

Three months later the buyer contacted me, he had stored the car in his dad's garage for the winter and the garage caught on fire, the car was literally toast. He asked me for a revised bill of sales for $5k extra to submit to his insurance company.. I replied to his email with one line: "karma is a bitch"

That takes some seriously heavy hairy hangers.

I swear it's getting to the point that you need a lawyer for any crappy Craigslist sale/purchase.
