Know if Halfords oil is good? It meets the ACEA and API requirements for my car, but not the specific Fiat regulation. It's very cheap at the moment and I haven't really heard anything bad about it.

Thanks for the input. My car only takes 3 litres so it's not problem. Plenty left for top ups if necessary.

absolutely I'm normally a bit snobby and use shell or mobil but as long as it's not Asda brand you'll do fine.

Well given how much they usually charge for this stuff I assume it was at least acceptable. Better than the stuff for £17 in home bargains I assume...

I've never heard anything bad about it—if I needed an oil change right now, I'd probably take advantage of the offer.

I think its pretty decent. Not quite at the same quality as Mobil and the like, but better than alot of the really cheap stuff. I used it on both my Peugeots and the oil was one of the few things that didnt ever have problems.
Tend to put Mobil in the Focus, as it does more miles than the other two ever did, but yeah i've not heard anything bad about halfords before

This is kinda OT, but which Peugeots did you have? I've got a 106, and it's never really given me any trouble.

No experience with the 5w40, but the old Landy uses Halfords Classic 20w50 with no issues :)

I'd stock up for the future, but that'd require leaving the house, and the Halo 5 Beta just came out so...

I wish I could sit in and play LBP3 but had to go work on my mams car instead. It's gone from max to min on the dipstick in a couple thousand miles and there's oil all over the place.

I had a really nice little 205 as my first car. 1.1 and pretty well behaved once i bodged a cooling fan fix. (wired to a switch on the dashboard, through its own little fusebox)
was a nice little car, abit scary on the M25, but not bad in general.
The i replaced it with a 306. Crock of shit that car was. Head gasket went. ECU went. throttle idle control valve went. misfired like a bitch fairly often. and then the gearbox and clutch decided to eat themselves.
That got sold for £450, and replaced with my Focus, thats 30,000 miles and 2 years older than it was when I bought it, and apart from servicing, has had 2 windscreens, and a gearbox speedo sensor, and thats it.
