I'm looking at the feasibility of a road trip this summer, and have decided what my final destination is: St. Pierre et Miquelon, the tiny French islands off the coast of Newfoundland. Thing is, this is a road trip, and I'd love to be able to drive on the island. However, I can't seem to find any ferries that'll take cars on them, only bikes, people, and small animals. Does anyone know of any possible way to get a car on the islands, or am I shit out of luck?
Have some French for your time, courtesy of my excellent photography friend Google.
EDIT: So it turns out the road trip will be somewhere around 6500 kilometres in its current incarnation. I think I will need more than the time I've allotted for it, and it will probably not happen this year. Booooo.

Ever since C&D ran a piece about that Island and some old Citroen, I've wanted to go there. Maybe after this next semester...

I don't believe there is a vehicle ferry to the island, I think you have to park your car on the mainland and either go on foot or take a bike along with you.
Probably has something to do with the infrastructure on the islands being inadequate for the number of visitors they get.

Reasonable enough. Makes me a little sad, though.

If they'll rent to a twenty year old, sure! I don't think that's going to happen, though.
