Literally reads like a list of new cars that came out in 2014 without a more sporty and powerful manual sport wagon version. Which is to say, every car is being nominated, because they were all a big let down in that sense. Oh, and some people are complaining about a certain small Chevy truck, but we have a different Opponaunt for addressing that complaint. I should point out that I'm thrilled, because with so many people complaining about not being able to buy a souped-up, wagon/hatch/shooting brake manual version of whatever car, it means that most cars that came out this year were pretty damn good, because people can't find anything of the normal sort to complain about. Huzzah!

Kinja'd!!!

Also, my vacation is not over. And I will not twerk.

The previous gen had weird color combos, character, a gorgeous interior and exterior. This thing is beige luxury.

I mean, it is available in red or blue. The one above is indeed beige though.

I have a manual hatchback and I have no complaints. Since I bought a new car this year I stopped paying as much attention to new releases bc I can't/won't be buying anything new for the next 6-7 years.

I do want a GT350 real bad though.

Beige has never looked so good. And still mean enough to look like a hitman...

How dare car companies not take significant losses on exotic cars and trims that only a small percentage of consumers can actually afford.

My disappointment of the year was the Quattroporte Configurator. I remembered my burgundy exterior with beige interior and blue piping and subtle grey headlining, complete with burgundy stitching and 2 different kinds of wood previous gen Quattroporte. Now you can choose between grey, black or beige. Meh

EDIT: Oh man I totally did not read the rest of your post. Still...

Does the Corolla (released late 2013) count?

Kinja'd!!!

It's a rebodied, ugly, slow, and not even "new", still based on the 2007ish Corolla.

If not, I nominate:

Kinja'd!!!

The Lexus RC. Not because it's a bad car, but because it was SO hyped as being a NEW SUPRA, an affordable luxury tuner car that could do no wrong.

And what we got was an overweight, shockingly ugly, overpriced fat coupe that took everything awesome about the LFA and combined it with everything stupid about the Corolla. Nevermind that it costs as much as the far superior in every way BMW M4 and Corvette C7.

It's almost like they don't care about a small vocal minority on a forum, and are concerned with making money or something.

The headlights are too small, and the front looks odd.

Now this one, this is true hit man beauty

I know, I know. I'm like a broken record here.

"Today on Oppo, SM70 goes on the front pages, witnesses some silliness and questionable opinions, and gets annoyed about it. In other news...

Wait you can still get a burgundy exterior over a beige interior. The only thing missing is blue piping.

You and I have very different meanings of that descriptor then, because that front fascia is just all kinds of awful.

The next person who complains about the Colorado not offering a stick on every engine and trim level is getting hit. Be lucky they even offer one at all! No half ton trucks do anymore for a reason.

No. One. Buys. Them.

If HALF the people on the FP (and even here) actually BOUGHT a manual truck or car NEW. Maybe we'd have more sticks available to us in America.

But buying new is a waste of money! Why do that when I can buy so much more used! That's the Jalop way!

And don't even get me started on the Colorados size. It's not supposed to be S10 sized! It's a slightly smaller, better driving, more comfortable and car-like MIDSIZED truck.

And oh my god, if a full size truck is a "better" to you, GREAT! Go fucking buy one! No one is forcing you to buy a mid-sized! Some people want a smaller truck that actually fits in their garage, or they don't need a full-sized towing capacity but need a bed occasionally! The fact that GM is adding a third shift at the plant that builds them is clear indication that sometimes people want a mid-sized truck.

Yeah but it's not the same, you could do what you bloody wanted to.

Kinja'd!!!

Want to paint the steering wheel a completely different color? Fine. The upper dash is now green? Fine. The lower dash is made out of baby seals? Fine. The inside of the seats are a completely different color and material? Fine. All in the same car.

People in the enthusiast community have bashed and bashed that damn truck for anything from it having the "wrong" engine to being too big. Even though it has more power than anything in the class and is about on par size-wise with competitors. No one really thinks about how much it advanced a dying segment. GM could've done what many others have and completely pulled out of the segment, but they decided to instead come out with not one but two new trucks that lead the class in innovation and refinement. They are totally undeserving of the hate they've been getting.

I agree with most of the rant. I also recently bought a new GM fullsize truck, my first truck and first automatic equipped vehicle. Honestly, I can't say that I hate the transmission too much, but if a manual was available I would have went that route. The stupid thing has an upshifting fetish it seems. Definitely not ideal, but on the whole the transmission is good enough. Also, it's a pain in the ass to drive in the city or to park. The ease of towing a trailer makes up for it though.

That aside, the only options for manual trucks are a 9 yr old Toyota, a 7 yr old Nissan, or a 3/4 ton+ Ram Diesel. None of those are appealing, for different reasons.

All bets are off when it comes to the VW Amarok though. I would buy one of those in a heartbeat in crew cab / TDI / manual / 4x4 edition.

December 15, 2014 Autoweek issue. Massive circlejerk about the new Dodge performence lineup without a single negative word uttered. No "Sponsored" notice anywhere. Fuck you for selling out Autoweek, fuck you.

I remember reading that on quite a few forums when the spy shots 1st leaked. Anytime a new sporty Toyota/Lexus is spy shot some folks will say it is the new Supra.

The only thing I've ever seen referred to as the Supra was the FT-1 concept.
