Well, for once i'll back to the old version of quickride! With text and such things. And for today we have a Honda, albeit's not the Honda that you used to be..

Kinja'd!!!

It's called the Brio. It's a very tiny little hatchback that smaller than a Honda Fit, but bigger than those N-Box thing. The Brio is designed to capture every single niche avaliable under the Honda Fit. You see, in Indonesia, the base model Fit cost about 20kilobucks. The brio, base model brio, start from 8.5kilobucks all the way to 15kilobucks for this Brio Sport. And what did you get from your 15 kilobucks?

Kinja'd!!!

Let's see. First of all, the looks. It looks a bit like old Civic Hatchback from the 80's. Although the brio has shorter bonnet. And checkout that racing stripe! That's sort of cool in my book. Although some think it looks crap, but how many cars you can buy today that comes with racing stripe?

Kinja'd!!!

And let's step inside now. First off, there's this front bucket seats. Honda want's you to believe that it's a bucket seat, but actually it's isn't. It's just some sort of front seats pretends to be a bucket seat. It does look cool, but that's about it. It won't hold your body like a real bucket seat.

Kinja'd!!!

On the back, things not look good either. Yes it's sort of roomy, but if you're taller than 180cm, your head will hit the roof all the time. You might think "How about moving it backward?"

Kinja'd!!!

You can't. The rear seat is fixed and only has 2 settings, fully up, or fully down. And what is this, luggage space for ants?

Kinja'd!!!

The rear hatch does look cool though, albeit it's a bit small. So that's the interior, how about power?

Kinja'd!!!

This is the engine. 100 hp of SOHC 4-pot with i-VTEC YO!

It's quite plenty for car this small, although i'll say extra 20-40hp is going to be awesome. It'll do 0-60 in about 12 seconds, and top speed is 110mph if you have balls made out of steel, since this thing wobbles at speed higher than 80, just look at how small that tire!

And oh, it's very economical. It could achieve 50mpg in highway if driven carefully. But even if you drive it like a maniac you'll still get about 35-40mpg.

Kinja'd!!!

Handling, it's really good. It has that old nimbleness of those old Honda CRX and Civic hatchback from the past, and if you push it really hard you can actually maken this thing loose the grip and slide about in it. Plus because it's so small, you feels like a part of the car, which is amazing, given it's low price. The only trouble is, it's an Auto. But there's also 5-speed manual for all jalop in us.

Kinja'd!!!

There's also some toys in it, like this JVC cheap-ass double din. Seriously, if you have a Honda from early 2000s, it's sounds exactly the same. And there's an Aux Jack! Yeees.

Kinja'd!!!

So, would i buy it?

Kinja'd!!!

Well, sort of yes. Because it's much better than i thought. But i recommend to save your monies and don't get the sport, because the non-sport brio also has the same interior, same power, and same audio system. All you paying for is faux bucket seats and gaudy striping. But don't get the very base Brio E because you won't get a Rev Counter, so buy the middle trim one and save some bucks.

What do you think?

Well, maybe because they won't meet crash standard.

I don't really hate it as well.

If i had to give it a score, it would be 6.8/10

If it had a smidge more room, (I'm 6') I'd like it. But then it'd be a Fit, and I love the Fit.

Sit in the front, and adjust the steering from there. I'm pretty sure you can fit but without carrying any passenger

That would be my problem. I ALWAYS have passengers.

You're right, this isn't what Honda used to be.

The Fit/Jazz had the same problem in India. In fact, all of the standard Honda models had this problem in India - they were too expensive and they were 2 to 3 model years older than what people got in the US (meaning less features).

So Hyundai launched a bunch of cars that were cheaper and newer year models and won.

Well, it's sort of Honda that it used to be. It's small, nimble, and efficient. But that's also true, i mean, imagine you go to Honda dealership and tell me what sort of car you rather buy?

Me?

None. Maybe the new Oddy, but that's about it.

I agree, Honda used to be all those things. But like you said, they don't have any good options in their lineup. I'd prolly buy this with 50 more horses, just for a fun car. Not a daily driver.

If it has an extra 50hp it'll be called the Type-R :D

yeah, which is sad, since i used to love them.
