Do It!
You should also know better than to ask to be talked out of getting a manual wagon, even if it isn't brown, around here.
We won't help at all.

I know the older wagons are a money pit but I dunno about that. That has a lot of miles for being a 2010. It should be fun. Probably not as exciting as a WRX but it looks like it would have more room which would be nice and probably a better interior. Don't expect 26 mpg cuz turbos tend to induce really heavy left feet cuz BOOST! Looks nice.

Almost 100k miles, like that's high :p
With Japanese cars, it's "under 100k"

It doesn't help also that I read a build on Swedespeed where some guy modded his to a very streetable 400WHP.

You came HERE for us to talk you OUT of buying a turbo manual AWD wagon? REALLY!?!?!
Uhhhh ... It's silver. Silver is boring.
Sorry, that's all I've got.

True but it is in backwoods WV so it won't be easy to beat me to it if I decide to pull the trigger on it. Still on the fence. I'm wondering what a clutch job costs on this beast. It has to be nearly due and I didn't see any documentation of one on the history report. (and they documented nearly everything else)

I'd say go for a slightly older V70 R. More power, more space, cheaper, world's most comfortable seats (available in orange), and the "space-ball" shifter. That being said these V50s are sweet also. Used to have an S60 and as a result am a big fan of Volvos.

Granted, it'd be three years older, but get a V70R for that type of money.

I thought these cars made similar power and used the same engine and AWD system.

Like this one? What makes it better other than more room and better looking? It costs about the same and is nearly twice as old.

Faster, 300 hp vs 227 in the V50. Much better adjustable suspension (comfort, sport, advanced modes). Better looking, cheaper, faster and a better wagon (can haul more). Just my opinion, I think the V50 is nice but the V70 R is much more sporting and more practical.
