Just nailed the wall/curb on the bridge by my house. Waiting on the cops to get here and do their thing. Check out the wheel they left in the road! I'll try to snap one of the car before it departs... Anyone want to try and guess the car from the wheel remains?
EDIT: I can't believe you guys actually got it.. it was a prev-gen Impala. I'll try to get a picture in the morning if they haven't towed it yet.

Looks like a Tacoma wheel.

Hmm, an '07-'13 Silverado/Tahoe/Suburban?

Looking again, you're probably right.

Think everyone is close - some sort of GM wheel, unless I'm really off base. And imagine the force required to spin that off the hub. Yowza!

Upon further review, the lower-range wheels look similar but appear to not be exactly the same as shown in your accident pic.

GM, maybe a truck or something relatively large. Unless it's an Impala or Malibu. Or an old Colorado/Canyon

I think OpposTruckGuy has it: It looks to be from a previous-gen Impala.

I love how quickly all here can identify the car based on the busted part... very impressive!

I guessing it went sideways and the axle broke out thru the wheel. MS Paint.

That hurts, and it's not even my car ....
