Prices on these are going to hit rock bottom now that the new hotness is here. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Next year is going to feature big changes when I get some wheels. That plus an upswinging economy means getting a $30k car for me is doable in 1-2 years.

This seems like a perfectly reasonable and justified car to buy but...
I myself could never buy one unless it was the wagon. Just because I know the wagon exists, and I'd regret not buying the wagon.

The bumper is pretty big. I'll probably have to add some honda holes to keep the aero penalty to a minimum when I'm double clutching.

Those are about $20k more right now. $30k in two years is doable. $50k...not so much :(
Bonus downer: Performance wagons are basically a captive market because there are so few to choose from and the demand is always high relative to the supply. That makes them basically immune to the depreciation tax that other luxury products are subjected to when aging/entering the used market. :(

A CTS-V at $30k?
Damn, and the 2013-2014 Taurus SHOs that I was perusing last night seemed like screaming deals at $24k-$30k. I'd trade heated seats all around and front seats with ventilation and Multi-Countour massaging for RWD and a supercharged pushrod V8 any day of the week.

Still miss my '97 SHO - the temptation for a newish one would be strong if I actually needed a car (I don't).
And for all you lusting after RWD sedans with manual trans (or even a flappy paddle gearbox) I would drive not only the Cadillac, but everything that fits your criteria that's, say, 8 years old or less. So many cars leap off the depreciation cliff, and many are still falling. And if I need a car and have a decent pile of cash? Make mine a Continental Flying Spur, thank you very much.
