I'm still here oddly enough, so Krampus hasn't come for me, yet.

Krampus ain't all that German, more Austria and Balkans. :)

And we usually have the buggers roam around in early December when Saint Nicolas shows up. Kinda the same origin as Santa, but we get Santa as well, so go figure. This dude:

For some reason, I feel like he'd have no issue getting a girlfriend, horns and all. Can't put my finger on it, though...

Krampus comes for St. Nicholas' night, 6th of December. But I'm fine, I've been a good boy this year it seems...

And you saw this on Fallon, I presume? I stumbled upon that clip today.
He forgot to mention that Krampus pulls big chains behind him. Well, at least in Croatia he does...

I was actually was introduced to this by Frau Paul, my German teacher in high school. Croatian Krampus sounds scarier.

Oh, sorry.
Well, in whole of the Balkans parents tend to scare their children from a young age, to keep them in line easier. To me it was normal, when I misbehaved my parents told me Krampus will come and take me away and that I won't get any presents except his sticks.
That would suck... Tree branches and sticks as presents.

No need to apologize. This really needs to be global.

Hey, it's not often I get to say something about my backwater neck of the woods. :D

Have some baked Krampi as peace offering. These are given out to good kids along with tangerines, dates and the like:
