People definitely drive worse during the holiday season

Normally drivers in my town are excellent, apart from the whole !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . But these last few weeks, it seems like everyone has forgotten everything. People are driving in two lanes, with no lights on after dark, and stopping only for green lights. They are texting while they eat and put on makeup. They are pulling in behind me to make a right turn, then pulling out from behind me, passing me, and then immediately cutting me off to make that turn (I'm looking at you, Hyundai Santa Fe). In short, I think I'll just walk everywhere this week. Still, it could be worse. I could be putting up with these people:

I almost got sideswiped by a guy on the highway who just randomly veered out of his lane, not texting or anything. I was in my mom's car too so I leaned on the horn and put my foot down. Then promptly got cut off by someone else. And later watched someone run a redlight. All in the span of 10 minutes.

The holidays man, they do thing to people.

I have been seriously trying to use my horn less, but at one point a few days ago I ended up behind a van who was doing 30 in a 35 zone (with everyone else doing 40) slowing to 20 for every intersection, and generally being a rolling obstruction. When he finally decided to turn off, he was just a little further outside the turn lane than my patience would allow. It was probably a dick move on my part, but yeah, I gunned it and laid on the horn.

I blew around a truck doing 25 in a 30 on a road where people usually do 40. One lane each way with a double yellow line, basically said fuck it and went when it was clear.

Yesterday I was driving with my sister. I was trying to change lanes, so I checked my blind spot, put on the signal, and accelerated. The guy a car length or two behind me accelerated, honked the horn and forced me to swerve back into my line, then went flying off. He promptly tailgated the guy in front of him the rest of the time I was behind him.

People suck.

I thought my commute was bad. I only see really bad stuff a couple times a week. The rest is usually BMW drivers doing as they please and people riding in the left lane who shouldn't be allowed to drive at all.
