This is a thing! Slot cars. We know of them. Some of us had them as kids and some of us are really in to them as adults, some more than others. Making a cool decorated layout is nothing new, but now these distinguished gentlemen are crossing model train layouts and diorama design with pro level Scalectrix slot car technology to create the greatest multi-surface racing possible in your rec-room/garage/basement. Rally slot car.

Sights and Control: This makes Slot Rally. In regular slot car racing the driver nails the trigger for power and releases pressure somewhat for the corners depending on how tight they are and gets back on the "gas" again for the blast to the next corner creating a dizzying cycle lap after lap. So, let's really test the driver's ability. Let's build the twistiest course possible with humps and add rock walls and trees and grassy hills and people on corners and loose substance of color to simulate dirt or snow and you have sideways low grip action for your rear or sometimes all-drive cars to work with. Can the driver modulate the throttle well enough to maintain grip in, around, and out of the corners? Here they have to contend with humps tossing the cars out of the slot and substance grip flinging the cars wide on the corners making the fish-tail action we all love in normal rally an every corner occurrence. Let's watch some videos as an idea of what a great layout can be and what the driving is like. Some scenes are in slow motion, but some are in real speed they are just going slow-just like the real cars trying to stay in control. Enjoy.

Here's a track with the humps built in. (The music in these videos is what it is. At least it's a bit better than listening to five minutes of wee electric motor.)
