Kinja'd!!!

A bright red Wrangler Unlimited. Jesus Christ this thing is terrible. My parents thought is was cool, so they got it. This is, by far, the most gutless car I've ever driven. 10/10 would kill it with fire.

I see Hawaii plates. I don't wanna hear ANY complaining. My wife & kids have been there. I HAVE NOT. It's currently about 25 degrees Fahrenheit here.

F winter!

It's poop without the manual and the ability to go off road.

Count me into the disliker of Wranglers club. What year is it? Im guessing 14-15? Its probably got the 3.6 in it? Pop the hood and check out the backwards mounted alternator.

No, not at all. It doesn't surprise me that it was the worst performing. I mean, really? 4.5k RPMs just getting into traffic? Its ridiculous.

we rented one on Kauai during our honeymoon because we were told we would need one by someone who went before us. We passed on a Camaro SS for $50 more because we were told we needed a jeep. We didn't need a jeep, and it sucked. We put the top down once because when we went to put it back up one of the bars had bent the wrong way. It fell short about an inch every time I tried to lock it on the windshield. And the unlimited was awkwardly large. I would not rent one again.

Lol, trust me, I'm not complaining. It rules here. I know the winter feels, I live in Michigan, where it is also about 20 degrees.

Power has never been a requirement in Jeeps.

If you think that one is bad go drive a CJ.

What year is it? The old 3.8 was a pig. The 2012+ Wrangler 3.6 is relatively powerful.

14-15. My friend used to drive them for a dealership and hated them. Still doesn't understand why people would want one.

If it gets to 60 in less than 13.5 seconds, no complaining sir. Because that's what it takes my car and it's totally livable.

PSH!! A few years ago, wife, aunt, grandmother, and I went to the Caymans and rented a Hyundai van. The type that you only see in third world countries. I literally had to do brake stands just to pull out into traffic. Full gas pedal-mashing brake stands.

Even then, it was slower than slime.

Ouch. The worst is the rental rate for that thing. The added insult to the injury is the rider that says rental vehicles are not allowed off paved roads or onto un-maintained roads. So yeah, that sucks. Welcome to the Islands.

My '83 CJ7 had all the grunt I could need, and that was before I found out it was only running on 5 cylinders. It went right up a 3 ft. boulder before I noticed I hadn't turned the wheel hard enough to the right. So I'm not certain I agree with you. Highway was another matter, but that was more the fault of the transmission.

Oh, so you know the pain :/ If we had the chance at a Camaro SS and my parents turned it down, I think I would be pretty mad. But we needed something that would hold our luggage, so that probably wouldn't work for us anyways.

Let me further elaborate, I don't understand why someone would want one to daily drive if they never actually take it offroad. As in, 80% of their buyers.

Kinja'd!!! CRider > Jordan and the Slowrunner, Boomer Intensifies

Jeep says 60% of Wrangler owners go off road, and 80% of Wrangler Rubicon owners do. That's significantly higher than any other vehicle. There's really no other reason to buy a Jeep, but if you do go off road nothing can touch these things.

Because the Defender is the lat word in power and refinement. The fact is, vehicles built to go off road generally suck on smooth surfaces.

If a 280 hp Jeep is the most gutless car you've ever driven, you're quite blessed. From what' I've heard, the Jeep has been improved a lot lately, what was so terrible about it?

Really? I don't know, I'll agree that its honest. But I really can't see the fun factor. If I were Ilin the market for a Jeep, I'd at least stick with a 2-Door Wrangler.

It just feels gutless. Trust me, my 155 HP 2002 Taurus is probably much slower. But the Taurus just feels quicker, for some reason. Honestly? I'm really not impressed with any of it. It is uncomfortable, the 3.6 struggles at any given time, the transmission can't shift properly at any time, and its overpriced. Frankly, I find it quite pointless. Maybe you've been hearing about the Cherokee? Because the Cherokee has improved massively.

Kinja'd!!! CRider > Tuned-Port-Injected-Rage

Kinja'd!!!1

While the motor is a high revver and might "feel" slow, it isn't. The manual will fix a lot of that I'm sure. Of course it's uncomfortable, it's a two solid axle small truck built for off roading. As for it being overpriced, I agree but Jeep can't build them fast enough so obviously people are willing to pay for it and the resale values are just STUPID high (just look at used Jeeps). And I'm sure I was thinking of the Wrangler, since I can hardly look at the Cherokee long enough to read a review of one.
