Featuring the two brand's SUVs; the Tahoe and Expedition.
Ignoring the fact that GM practically owns the full-size SUV market, which one would you pick?
The newly EcoBoost'd but still basically 7 years decade old Expedition,
Or the all-new but still rocking pushrods and a live rear axle Tahoe?
It'd be a total tossup for me really. The Expedition makes more power but the Tahoe weighs a good amount less. The Tahoe has a better interior but the Expedition has more cargo capacity. Expedition is faster to 60 (both are still around the 6.5s mark), but the Tahoe is quieter inside cruising there. Both cost basically the same.
It'd really come down to what brand you want honestly. And since I'm a GM guy, I have to go for the Tahoe. Or preferably a Yukon.

I was going off the facelift that the '15 looks like to be nice. I could've said a decade I guess.

Neither? I just don't like either of them now. I'd rather snag an old Bronco or Suburban that I could find with a manual. I'm admittedly not the target market for the new ones, but the Expedition is too old and there's just something I don't like about the Tahoe.

Those two are too close to call, so I'll take a Jeep instead.

Last year for my vacation I got a ride in a Suburban to my airport and another ride in an Expedition from the airport to the hotel. The Suburban (And the last few Suburbans I've rode in, including the Yukon I rode in Friday from the airport) were all rough, kind of noisy and weren't to comfortable. The Expedition rode much better, felt smoother and was more comfortable.
Now, these were both earlier SUV's and obviously GM and Ford have made some huge improvements. Being fleet vehicles, they have also taken some abuse. But from past experiences, I just like the Expedition better. I also find that it looks better, but that's just me. I have always liked its styling.
I would like to compare the two new ones though.

I always choose the wildcard. Also racetrack taillights

I want to say I'd go for the Expedition. But, only if the new interior is as good as they claim it to be. (Edit: the Expy interior is supposed to be improved over earlier years.)
Going by exterior looks alone it's Expedition all the way.

I'm with you there. I'll even accept it with the 6.4 and the other Trailhawk concept gear.

I'm not even sure this is considered a competitor to these anymore. More of an Explorer and Traverse competitor methinks.

It is a bit smaller but to me it's big enough. and still A lot bigger than an Explorer. Maybe it'd actuallt a good middle ground. Also the Traverse is hideous.

The two are about dead heat on interior as well, the Tahoe being slightly better according to C&D.

Probably the Tahoe because unlike Ford, Chevy keeps refreshing the exterior so it doesn't look like the same damn thing. Ford basically changed what, the grille?

The Explorer and Durango are within 2 inches of each other in every dimension except wheelbase.
The Traverse might be hideous, but it's a similar size.

Trick question. 1992 and older Burban/Blazer is the correct choice. Not the tarted up trucks.

Because heaven forbid an SUV be tarted up and nice to drive everyday?
Those old ones will be thirsty, uncomfortable, and less powerful.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

It's close, but the headlights on that Tahoe are absurdly fugly, so the Expedition please.

I think absurdly fugly might be a bit much. If they got rid of the lower orange thing it'd look a lot better though.

Explorer. It doesn't look like a hearse in black, and it hasn't been recalled for spontainiously combusting. Plus, so much tuneability and economy mods avail.

You picked this one cause you knew GM would win :)
It's not even close. The Expedition is the loser for sure. It's so dated. The EcoBoost isn't really an advantage - how is it going to run in 10 years compared to the legendary Chevy V8?
This reminds me - I still want a 4x4 Suburban. One of many wants...

Yeah I don't see why people would chose the deliberately less comfortable and less powerful car, on a car they aren't even going to do real work in. And if you want to do construction work from an Escalade, I'm sure it would be really good at it!
