for lack of SR20, have a lowrider. My thoughts on the Colorado: uhhhh......aren't they supposed to be small? Looks like a less attractive Silverado.

The local GMC dealer had a Canyon parked back to back with a Sierra. I don't know if they were trying to prove it is pointless or not, but they succeeded. They are nearly the same size.

Point proven. Driving a nail in that coffin is the price. You can get a lot more for that money if you aren't loyal to GM, and I'm not referring to Toyota.

small pickups are dead. The new small is vaguely smaller than full size.

You'd better not be refering to Toyota. You get MUCH more for your money with a Colorado than a Taco. Price it out.

They do look huge in person, but they aren't actually as big as they look. The cab is basically identically sized inside to the last Colorado, and the short bed is just 1" longer. The hood is about 5" longer than the old one, and it is about 6" wider, which if you see one in person comes from those huge flared fenders (about 3" each side). Basically, the only dimentions that have been changed significantly are the wheelbase and track, and the bodywork has been pulled and tugged to fit.

So basically everything that really didn't need to get bigger, got bigger.

Also, have priced it out. For the same price or less I could have had a Taco, which offers: a manual that isn't a GM automatic, proven reliability, just as much, if not more USEABLE power, and it looks a metric fuckton better. But I was referring to the Ram 1500, that you can get similarly equipped for also around the same price, but with a V8 and 8-speed auto.

Perhaps the pricing is different in the US, but take a look at these pics. First set is stripper truck VS stripper truck, second is the most expensive I could manage from both (without the extended care plans from Toyota, I didn't think it would be fair to push the price up with something like that when GM doesn't even offer it.)

In any case, it doesn't matter, the Taco is more expensive in any case (and yes I tried combinations in between).

I'm also going to have to agree on the usable power (should've used the 4.3) and disagree on the looks (even though I had to use the LT model to push the price up and I don't like the chrome).

I agree on the Ram, though I should say that the point of the smaller trucks is that people don't want a fullsize . And regardless how it looks (huge) the Colorado is quite a bit smaller.

Yeah. Although I like the effect it gives on the Canyon. Not so much the Colorado.

But my point is it isn't as big as it looks.

Fully loaded here they both are pretty much the same on the price scale.

I see. In that case there isn't much point arguing-you like the Taco and it's the same price for you, I like the Coloranyon and it's much cheaper for me.

Good day to you sir.

It's the difference in width that matters the most and makes the midsize feel much smaller in tighter maneuvers. Something you will appreciate much more on a daily basis instead of extra capabilty you will never use. The lengths are closer between the trucks, but you can at least fit a crew cab short bed midsize into a garage.
