Looks like third time's the charm for finding an FM transmitter that actually works. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , you're my hero!

I was getting pretty frustrated at my '05 Grand Cherokee's lack of both an aux jack and a tape deck, as I had !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Today I set up the X2 Mini in my car. I'm keeping it.
Pros:
No static unless you turn the volume on the stereo wayyyyy higher than you should be listening to.
Plenty of volume. It can actually go louder than regular radio stations, but the sound gets muddy if you do that.
Sound quality is fine. It's not as good as a CD, but we're talking about streaming music on my phone here, not like it needs to be perfect.
Cons:
The auto frequency finder doesn't work right. It's supposed to find an FM frequency that's not being used by an actual radio station. But it only finds even-numbered stations like 105.2. Which is great if you live somewhere that has even-numbered radio stations, but pretty much all radios in the US only tune to odd-numbered stations.
The stalk that goes into the power outlet is too long. It sticks out like this:
My Jeep has two 12v outlets. This one on the right side of the dash is labeled "Power Outlet" and stays on when you turn off the car. The actual lighter outlet is on the left of the dash and switched with the ignition, but the GoGroove hits my shifter when plugged in there. There's no power switch on the GoGroove so I have to pull it out of the outlet halfway to turn it off.
Overall though, I'm happy. There's the regular non-Mini X2 which has a gooseneck, but I didn't want that sticking out from the dash even more.
Also there's the X3, which adds a power switch, but it's 11 bucks more, and it has the same slightly-too-long power plug.
If the X2 Mini had a shorter power plug so I could plug it in to my switched outlet, it'd be perfect. But as is, it works well enough that I don't think I'll be bothering with pulling apart the dash and adding an aux input adapter to the factory head unit.

As I recall, they used to be much better but the FCC cracked down on signal strength allowed by them.
That could be wrong. I remember having one years and years ago that was fantastic. On a bus trip I could transmit to the entire bus

At 47.99 you could basically install an aftermarket deck with an aux.

Sure, but I'd have to put it in this terrible-looking dash kit, becasue of the funky shape of my factory head unit.
(The dash kit you linked doesn't work in Chrysler vehicles where the stereo has knobs sticking out either side.)

I had one that would transmit to other cars! It was kinda fun driving down the road and my buddy rolls up next you listening to the transmitter from my car. The range was about 2-3 car lengths away when it started getting fuzzy.

Sorry to dig up an old post, but how's the transmitter doing so far?
Still going strong?

Still works good. The neck is still too long, and the built-in speakerphone sucks where people on the other end can barely hear me. But I don't really get a ton of phone calls in the car and I do have a bluetooth headset, so it's easy enough to pop into my phone's bluetooth menu to switch between the transmitter & headset when needed.

Thanks! I was just looking at getting one, so I was wondering if anything had changed.
