Those went on sale after Christmas last year for like $3 each. I bought them by the truckload until they sold out.

Sugar + tiny amounts of protein. You can be a heretic from the Sect of Atkins eating these but still convince yourself you're adhering to its teachings that way.

Saw those at Speedway this morning. $10.99 was the price.
Worth it?!

I could, literally fuck up 10 of those half pounders. I dont eat much candy at all but those are my trigger. I have messed up whole bowls and bags of them before.

I got my wife one of those for Christmas. She is a peanut butter cup junkie.

Do they have the same chocolate to pb ratio? Can you still eat them the correct and proper peanut butter cup eating technique by nibbling off the outside edge first?
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

I did not know about those. My big concern would be a change in the ratio of PB to chocolate.; the standard ones are just about perfect, whereas the minis have too much choc in relation to the PB.

"Proper eating technique"? Eff dat, open mouth, insert cup, done. Repeat until done for the 2lb versions.

Ahh, another true connoisseur.
The chocolate to PB ratio is crazy important and a lot of people just don't understand that. It's my opinion that the unwrapped Reese's minis fail on the ratio. Most confectioners that make copycat cups in giant size also fail miserably at this. I haven't tried the 1/2 pound cups pi cured above.
Another thing that I find important is the oil content of the PB. There is no greater joy that getting a really fresh Reese's cup. They seem to dry out over time and that's no good. Buying them for a major retailer that turns over a lot of product is the winning move. I've had too many dried out cups purchased at tiny gas stations where a case could last them 6-9 months.
Kudos on your consumption technique too. I've long been a fan of removing the outer edge (sometimes I can get it off in one continuous piece, including the top chocolate) and then consuming the PB center by itself. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I also like to eat the nougat portion of a Snickers first, and then I'm left with peanuts, caramel and chocolate - the best part of the Snickers.

Yeah, once they dry out, the pb gets gritty. When you only have a few a year, ya want quality.
Back in the early 90's (?), Planters made pb cups. They came 3 in a pack and were kinda shaped like big Rollos. The peanut butter was more peanutty and the sides had thicker chocolate. They were good.
