Downloaded The Crew on PS4, since it my consolation prize for buying the AC:Unity season pass, sit down to play, servers are down. Pooooooor Pancho. Also, does Oppo have any presence in that game?

I played it on the Xbone for about 2 hours. I didn't care for it so I went back to forza.

I guess that doesn't really answer the question, but hey, I played it. Haha.

Got it for Xbox One for full price at launch.

Beat it in two days.

Not impressed.

Went to trade in, was offered £6.78.

Went home and put on shelf.

Went back to Forza Horizon 2.

Forgot about The Crew.

What specifically was wrong with it? It's getting fairly cheap and I need a racing game since driveclub is fucked.

I'm told Driveclub is fixed and actually pretty good so you might have a life line. As for The Crew.

1. Cars. The Car list is piss poor, bordering on the worse I have ever seen not that really matters because the economy is so poor that you will likely use your starting car for the entire game.

2. Story/Career. Man that was dumb but not in a lovable Most Wanted kind of way. No just Dumb.

3. Map. Yeah it is big but so what you spend most of the time driving on the straight motorways for ages or stuck in boxy ass cities also driving in straight lines.

4. Gameplay. Man this game has a terrible driving model. The cars are so unresponsive even with all the assists off.

5. Customization. Truly a red Herring. I thought I would be able to do detailed engine swaps and aspiration conversions but nope. Every so often you get an upgrade that makes your car faster in all areas but you can't fine tune to improve a specific area like handling.

Conclusion: It is an Assassin's Creed game with a shitty driving model.

Man it sounds like they failed in all phases, I was expecting a not so great handling model but I thought they'd at least get the map and customisation right.

What's annoying is that if the game had a good driving model it would be so much better. I would actually take the mountain passes over the motorway but considering the car's grip levels are like an on/off switch and that it plays a stupid cinematic every time you "crash" (an asthmatic child coughing is enough to make these cars crash) is enough for me to say "fuck it" straight boring roads it is.

It seems most arcadey games these days are putting out stuff eith garbage handling models. Burnout and nfs most wanted had a decent balance but the newest NFS was absolutely terrible and now this. I've heard the driveclub handling isnt so good either.
