'Free my porriticar plisoners'?
Am I the only person that thinks these sometimes skirt the edges of good taste?

I think a stereotype can be employed very effectively for humor, satire, even political arguments, as long as the source of the humor lies in how they relate to the reality of the situation—illustrating the contrast between what's accurate and what is not. A lot of times these just seem like illustrated minstrel shows, albeit mostly employing national stereotypes with only occasional forays into racial ones.
Obviously people are free to enjoy them as they wish, and most really are simply playful humor. I'm just trying to put another viewpoint out there.

Good taste and Polandball? You must be new here.
America is depicted as fat, lazy and arrogant; Germany as Nazis; and as I recall, the last Polandball I read depicted Russia sodomizing smaller countries. China is gettin' off easy.

Yeah I've seen them posted here before, and some are better than others. I'm not trying to start any huge discussion or anything, just trying to make sure all viewpoints are represented and see if anybody else felt the same way I did.
