...and I feel morally obligated to 'add' to it. I used to make it a game to add figures into her nativity scene and see how long it takes her to realize that they were there. [baja bug for looking]
Out of my current collection of figurines, I would put: Goku at the food market, Optinus Prime with the shepards, hot wheels with the sheep, Voltron with the musicians (he seems like a musician, right ), a velociraptor peaking out of one of the buildings, and if she put up the river this year, a Gundam fighting a Gelgoog.
Its too bad I live in another state now, otherwise this would of been a lot of fun.

Everyone knows Goku was there. So really you'd just be maintaining historical accuracy.

I thought so. I think his gift was some senzu beans. I think the real question is, was Vegeta there?

Gollum?

It depends on which version and translation you read. Some don't even recognize Vegeta as another individual but rather as Goku's own purged evil side. Bunch of crazies out there I tell ya.
Also the manger was sponsored by capsule corps I do remember reading about that.

is this a picture of her setup??? Holy crap! I usually just put the figures in compromising positions. I will have to make some additions to my mom's when we visit.

wait a minute, was goku jesus? How many times did he come back from the dead? Really his story matches up perfectly. The coming back from the dead, the fighting in tournaments, it all checks out.

Ha, no, but now a Gollum figurine is being added to my wish list.

My favorite translation is the one in the original Hawaiian translated to gorilla grunts. It had a very unique narrative. Think the cat in the hat meets lord of the rings.

Yeah, they are Fontanini [ http://www.fontaninistore.com ], Italian made, hand painted figured. Each had a name and a personal story to it. She has a couple signed by the creator. They are actually pretty cool. She's been collecting them for over 10 years I think.
Think Pokemon cards, and it's the same concept, lol.

That is one crowded manger. Also you need to replace baby Jesus with a Stig.

Let's see, Goku died ....3 times I believe. they can't be the sane person though, otherwise my idea of the two of them having a secret handshake makes no sense!

Ha , good idea. But I discovered over the years , you don't mess with the manger scene. It's the most look at place, and she finds it easily. Theres no challenge that way.
On the other hand....I could easily create a 2nd manager scene somewhere else with baby stig...

That is not a nativity scene. That is a diorama of city life.

maybe they are the same person, but split. Like the holy trinity is a reverse fusion dance. It is all becoming so clear!

Ha, you're probably right. It all started off with only the manger scene. It just exploded after that.

Ha! If my calculations are correct, those should be just under the height of the rest of the nativity scene/diorama. That's perfect, it'll be harder to spot!

That's an epic idea. But we shouldn't forget Optimus Prime (gen 1 ver.), Inspector Gadget, and the Green Power Ranger....just saying....

Good Lord, that's not a nativity scene it's a diorama! What you need to do is go remove the magi from the scene. They didn't arrive in Bethlehem until January 6 at the earliest, and there is evidence that they didn't get to Jesus until he was two years old. They must have been flying Ryanair.

My aunt has one of these gigantic Italian nativity scenes, and it used to be a contest between my cousins and I to see who could sneak in the most action figures/dolls. 'Tis the season, amirite?

My cousin put a windup Tommy Pickles toy in there once. I'm not even joking when I say that nobody noticed til next year.

My younger brother put a Lord of the Rings Uruk-Hai action figure on one of the camels in my grandmother's one last year.

Haha, your correct. Which makes the little peoples nativity set that's my daughters all the more upsetting. It has the magi but no shepards. My wife was a bit upset about that, :).

Ha, the plot gets thicker. Bethlehem, in Hebrew, is 'bait lekem', which means "house of bread". So the real question is, where are the gingerbread houses?

Thanks! As the oldest of three, I need to keep my mom on her toes. Especially since I have my own daughter now and I'm gonna encourage silliness like this, :).
A chocobo, eh? I like that idea! I'm thinking the magi could ride one!
