Wow, it's amazing how far this technology has come since those days. The thing you linked to literally looks like GM stuck a foam cooler in the front of a car. I don't know if you handled a part like that or any of the material after you met your ditch, but if you could feel how much stronger and lighter the new stuff is you'd be blown away.
