Honestly, if I was ever in that situation, I would stop the car in the side of the road and just walk home. Not even close to the road either.

What irritates me is that situations like this happen all of the time, not always relating to snow. People need to realize the priorities in a situation like this (which could also be any run-of-the-mill accident):
1) Safety. WHY would you get out of the car or be anywhere near the car after exiting the car when you know 4,000 lbs of machine could be headed towards you without any control at speeds much faster than you think you can run.
2) CLEAR THE FUCKING ROADWAY. WHY would they just leave the cars in the way? This goes back to my first priority, don't get out of your car. Stay in your car, be aware of your surroundings and move off of the roadway.
3) Call the police. They can help other people find out about the obstructions and can bring help if needed, Since you are being an idiot and running around near cars out of control.
