"Meatcoma" (mastapoof)

I know there is a /justrolledintotheshop already but we need an Oppo version, our own horror stories of things we've seen done to cars or NOT done to cars. Or things our younger selves have done to cars either unknowingly or deliberately.
I'll go first.
I may have installed some brake pads backwards once - as in metal to metal. It however did not take long to figure out my mistake, maybe 2 feet or motion or less?

We have a lot of cars show up with diesel in their gas tanks. That's always pretty comical.
Not really rolled into the shop, but we had this park outside the store one day.

I have yet to molest my '15 WRX. It is a travesty!

A buddy and I were checking the fit of a head unit I was thinking of buying off of him. We had to shift the car into neutral to put it in position, and neither of us remembered to put the parking brake on or put the car back in park after we were done. The car being on level ground, neither of us noticed.
About half an hour later, when his dad and I were moving the cars in the driveway around so they could get their camper out, I sat in the driver's seat and prepared to start my car. I didn't even notice, but my car rolled backward and slammed into the front bumper of the car in their driveway.
With my friend's dad inside.
Fortunately it was an old Saturn and didn't do much damage, but it was pretty damn embarrassing.

I drove with basically no coolant for a month in my Safari. I guess the fact that it was rather cold out kept it from overheating. Turns out I have/had a leaky radiator hose.

I may have tried to rally jump my daily driver Civic del Sol when I was 16 and destroyed the radiator, front bumper, headlight housing, etc. As a side note, I learned that you don't lift right before said jump or the thing just dive-bombs into the grass. Oops...

The car: My first car, a 2001 KIA Rio.
The problem: The engine hemorrhaged most of its coolant and oil due to an overheating event (caused by the alternator belt snapping; the engine already had a very slow oil leak).
The crime: I replaced all the missing oil (the engine was pretty much dry) with Honda 4-stroke synthetic motorcycle oil. There was 10 quarts of the stuff in the garage and my teenage brain was like "well, this has to be an improvement over the dino juice that was in there before".
The aftermath: Interestingly enough, not only did the engine run smoother, but it also stopped leaking oil. I considered it a win/win.

My friends Dad told him before he took their truck on a 1000 mile trip, that he changed the brakes on it. He changed a pad. Also, a kid I went to school with was a dumbass who adjusted his injection pump to specifically roll coal, justice happened.
That's diesel and oil.

I've done the 'left it in neutral' part as well when replacing a stereo.

Nah, not looking for trouble, just some innocent ribbing really. A post was made on /r/rolledintotheshop about that bit of work so I though it appropriate and perhaps humorous to repost it here.

I evaporated half of mine on the way back from Pa. Most of the drive, my grill was literally blocked of by ice, and apparently it ran hot enough to boil it out. Temp gauge never moved.

I told them a variation of the truth. In the story, I was just having fun in a dirt field and didn't notice the drop on the other side of a mound I came over. It was my car, I paid for the repairs, and it's not like they didn't know that I was hooning it off-road at every opportunity. It wasn't a big deal. Now sliding my Dad's car into a wall behind Target within days of turning 16, that was a big deal. That was even dumber, probably.

Lol I did this with my jeep YJ when I was in highschool. I must have moved it into neutral cleaning the shifter boot. I went inside for a bit, came back out, and the jeep wasn't in the driveway. I looked in the back yard and there it was, on top of a rhododendron.

Pretty bad, no pics and I'm out of town. I did brembo rotors and akebono pads for the change. I never allow my brakes to get this bad but it took a bit for me to notice the noise and the parts came late. All my other cars have had the clips to warn you when they are low.
