If you've never tasted a Delirium, you should.

Horses for courses... I don't like most Belgians. The yeast strains there tend to leave flavors I don't really like. That's a solid suggestion, however, and worth trying. It's certainly a benchmark beer for the region.

Expensive? How much for a bottle across the pond? Being in France probably helps, and it's quite expensive compared to Belgium, it's less than 3€.

Not my favourite though. I'm much more fond of one called La Trappe.

I went to Brussels around this time last year with a few buddies, and actually went to Delirium Village. Owned by Delirium, it's this alleyway made up of bars themed based on liquor served (pubish beer area, pirate-themed rum bar, trippy absinthe bar, etc). It was quite possibly the coolest place I've ever been. The beer bar has more beers on tap than I ever seen in my life. It's worth a visit when you're ever in Europe. Bruxelles is a hidden gem of a city. It's a shame that Tremens goes for like $9 a bottle in a the US of A.

Yeah, no, at a bar it's around $10 a bottle. 15 years ago when I was in college it was a little more reasonably priced, but it got popular and economics happened.
There are better choices for the price here, but I still have one on occasion.
