but dammit if playing classic christmas music at work doesn't give me the feels. Anyone got indie-type Christmas music suggestions? I tried playing the pandora station of newer Christmas songs but said "nope." when the first song was Mariah Carey.

Do yourself a favor and get Spotify. Then search for Sinatra's Christmas album.

I got spotify, I'll try that. I did a pandora station search of "Bing Crosby Christmas" and it's been gold.

Always use Spotify. It's so much better than Pandora. haha
Also, never work at Staples. I worked their in college part time, and they have the absolute worst Christmas music.
Bass Pro Shops was a lot better, as long as you enjoy country music.

No recommendations on the Christmas music, but your headline made me think of this:

meh, they'll love it. Put on some Kenny G Xmas to be xtra ironic and they will love it too. You might have to claw your eyeballs out by noon, but business is business
I'll take 911 RS for $5000

Sufjan Stevens has an excellent Christmas album, though I personally prefer the Canadian Brass...

It can't be any worse than Trans-Siberian orchestra at the office Christmas party. God I hate the Trans-Siberian orchestra.

uhh! I'm 2 months away from 30 and I'm not looking forward to it. My 20's as a whole were pretty awesome. I can imagine my 30's to be a lot less exciting.

Here is my Christmas playlist on Spotify. I've got Sinatra, Crosby, Burl Ives, Ray Conniff, Vince Guaraldi Trio, etc. There's some modern stuff in there too, FYI.

The entire Christmas album from Relient K, called Let It Snow, Baby... Let It Reindeer is great. I'm not usually into Christian Rock, but it seems appropriate that a Christian Rock band made one of the greatest Christmas Albums I've ever head. Particularly recommended off of that album are Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas , Sleigh Ride , Silver Bells , and I Hate Christmas Parties .
Some of my other favorite Christmas songs:
Frosty the Snowman - The Beach Boys
White Christmas - The Beach Boys
Little Saint Nick - The Beach Boys
Run Rudolph Run - Chuck Berry
Jingle Bell Rock - Hall & Oates
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - The Bellamy Brothers
Jingle Bell, Shotgun Shells (A Cowboy Christmas) - The Bellamy Brothers
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow - The Carter Twins
Cool Yule - Kurt Elling
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - U2
Stay A Little Longer, Santa - Shemekia Copeland
Last Christmas - The Beatles
It's Christmas Time Again - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - Bruce Springsteen
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - John Mellencamp
Winter Wonderland - Elvis Presley
Blue Christmas - Elvis Presley

Oh, but it can. They were the absolute worst renditions of Christmas songs you've never even heard before. There was one that was sung from the perspective of a young boy with a high pitched sing songy voice, although I'm pretty sure was actually an adult woman singing, that still haunts me in my sleep.

Songsa's christmas in the 50's is probably the most consistently good playlist I've come across, but I can't into these damn kids on my lawn and their music!
Haha I kid, I enjoy most music, but there are not many modern christmas songs that do it for me.

It's just not my style. I know some people like it but it's not for me. We all have different tastes in music. I personally hate country music while for some reason people love it.
