Today is the first day that I'm taking Veronica into the city for school. I bought this type of truck specifically to easily drive in the city with large cargo. I'm taking my 28x36 portfolio, my document tube and my messenger bag. Im a little worried about the front suspension and handling on the narrow streets of Downtown Denver, and parking in my school's parking garage with its pitiful turning radius. Today is her first real test as a truck and my first real test as a driver, we'll see how she and I do. My class gets out during rush hour, so leaving school will be a challenge and a true test of my manual driving abilities. Today I also turn in my final project for my Technical Perspective class, this class has really taken a bite out of me so I'm glad its gonna be over and I will have a 2.5 week break starting Wednesday. Anyway, wish me luck Oppo.

Best of luck. IIRC, you're driving a Ranger, the turning radius should be fine in a parking garage. If people in Ram3500 long beds can do it, you shouldn't have an issue.
I must admit I'm a bit confused though. Are you putting your stuff in the bed of the truck? That's can all fit in the interior, shouldn't it? It's not that big.
Rush hour in a manual is fun. Okay, it's not. But, it is what it is. If it's unavoidable just do what you can to make the time go by.

Large cargo? I just moved a 32 inch tv, 4 tool boxes, 3 big bags of clothes, hamster cage, mountain bike and weights in my Panda.

I have problems with fitting my truck between cars just trying swing it in forwards. I pretty much back it in every time I park and it has worked out quite well. So, if you do find yourself getting frustrated, give it a try.

The turning radius on my Ranger gave me no trouble downtown. I had a single cab short bed though. It'll be a bouncy ride, but it shouldn't give you trouble.

Narrow streets? You'll be fine, I never even had a close call in my Tundra Crew. I've had more issues with people not seeing the Miata at all. I need some air horns on that thing.
Good luck on your first drive in. I haven't found city streets to be too had during rush hour. The highways suck, but even with 2 manual transmission cars, I don't find it too bad.

P.S., I'm routinely flinging a cargo van through downtown on a regular basis and it's not that hard. If I can do it, you can.
