I was looking through some old Japanese Subaru brochures I found online, and stumbled upon this page. The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has been mentioned here before, but what's it doing in an old Subaru brochure? Look at the upper right corner and start counting to twelve. Before the Judd V-10 was fitted, the Caspita was originally powered by a flat-12. Yes, that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The ill-fated joint venture between Subaru and Motori Moderni. While it only produced 470 hp, it was good for a 0-60 run of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph; very respectable for 1989. The flat-12 was later replaced by a more powerful, more conventional Judd V-10. Unfortunately, the Caspita never reached production.
