- Nissan GTR owners?
- ''Anyone with more money invested in the interior and audio system in his car than the whole thing is worth' (Some people like their shitbox..)
- people showing off when leaving.

That's the nature of the internet, you can't go round hating in public so you vent it online.

They probably hate this post for existing. They won't like this post unless it comes with a Twin Turbo V6 and a sub 3 second 0-60.

I openly admit that I posted about people showing off when leaving, but it's not the showing off, it's the lack of control in a situation that can go very wrong. There are spectators all along the roads or right along a fence. I don't care if a million people peeled out just fine before me, I don't. Why?
Is it worth the risk to myself, my car, or those spectators? I'm fine with being an idiot, I don't need to prove it to anyone.

I don't like people showing off when leaving, especially if it's douchenozzle behaviour like lightning up the tyres while other people are leaving. With this said, that comment section is filled with people bitching for the sake of bitching. Almost all, if not all, of those people they hate so much can be avoided. That's what I generally do.

idk, usually the youtube videos of people showing off you can hear multiple "look at that asshole" right before their car gets wrecked.

Do you know what I hate? People who hate on entire sub cultures.
'[rat rods/stanced cars/low riders/mini trucks/whatever] are so stupid. Why the hell would you waste your money on something like that?"
These are the same people who post slammed old school Benzes and get offended when you point out the inconsistency. 'No way. This isn't stance, bro. There's no camber and it's done well. '
PSA: If you are this person, I hate you.

I don't like super low cars because they hold up traffic because they have no suspension travel so they have to go 20 under to keep from breaking their car.
I don't like bro trucks because they feel like rolling coal from every stop light. I also don't like how they generally drive like jerks and their cattle guards are at my eye level.
With that said I think people should be able to modify their cars however they please as long as it doesn't endanger other people. Do what makes you happy. Doesn't mean I have to like it and I can't be vocal about it every once and a while.

I won't necessarily go on a picket fence and hate forum against stanced vehicles. I just don't like it and think it's silly when you can't even pull into a driveway. Just my personal opinion on it is all. I think also people tend to lump their feelings of a particular sub culture with people they've interacted with that a part of that culture thus spreading their hate for the entire thing in general.

Generally I just keep my opinions to myself - unless of course someone here invites me to express them.

Won't let me edit but I can flag myself. Weird
Stanced cars often look great in photos or sitting still in general.

Right, and I totally respect that you don't like stanced cars. That's honestly totally cool. But when people (not necessarily you) start insulting owners for spending money on a car because it's not a style they like or start ranting and raving because the car is "ruined", I take issue. It's not your car. Why do you care? People get pissed off over the two Ferrari F40s that have been lowered and messed with, but does it really matter? Does stancing on car that most commenters here will never be able to afford affect them in any way? No. And if someone is stancing something more common than an F40, who gives a shit? If you want one, find another one that hasn't been modified. And people turn street cars into non-street legal race cars all the time, effectively making them useless for their original task, but no one takes issue with that. People also tend to focus on the most extreme examples, like the video of that Subaru you relied with. Do you know how often that actually happens? Less often than you would think but no one posts youtube videos of stanced cars NOT having trouble getting into a parking lot.
Look at is this way, I don't like American cars made after the 70s. I just don't. There are certainly a number of exceptions but for the most part, I would not touch them. Every time Jake posts about something he's doing to the MurderSofa I don't grumble and say "why would you waste your money on such a piece of shit American blah blah blah." I respect Jake for putting time, effort, and money into the Sofa and having fun with it, especially since it seems that he's doing a lot of work himself. I love that he strips out the back seats to go autocrossing and then puts them back in later. That's awesome! If he likes the Sofa, that's good enough for me. At the end of the day, people who stance their cars are simply expressing themselves through their car, which is essentially what we all do whenever we even purchase something less boring than a Camry. I say as long as the owner likes their car and they are being respectful of others, we should all stick to the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" rule. I'm sure most of us learned that rule when we were like 3 years old.

Gee, Steve - what's *your* opinion?
*ducks*
PS: (I follow the same philosophy - it's not worthing pushing, and if asked in a pull, then I'll come along. I'm easy that way. Sounds like you are, too.)

Leave the car stock unless there is a compelling reason to change something. Then think again - will this change make anything better? Then think again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Hmm. Sound likes the same philosophy the UI guys used for color monitors in the 80's with us non-designer programmers. "Think of 10 ways to use color. Throw out nine. Now do it again, 9 times. When you have 10 options through that process, throw out 9. Use the one left over. Later, rinse, repeat."
