This is probably a massive shot in the dark, but is there anyone here (contributing, lurking, or otherwise) who has experience (preferably successful experience) in sponsorship sales? Specifically motorsports sponsorship.
I am drafting all new marketing materials for my next season and was wondering if there is someone here that I could bounce ideas off of or at least ask for their input.
Thanks everyone!

Let's say it's not Rally or Touring Cars, but something that's a hybrid of the two. Global Rallycross.

Oh, sweet! The picture is relevant. I went in Charlotte in 2013. From my experiences, not going after the deals myself but observing, nothing is done until money is in hand and be prepared to be lead on and nothing to come out of it multiple times. But it seems you've been through it before.

Ohhhh yeah. That's the name of the game. Had several really good deals fall through at the last minute. I always say it's not a done deal until the visor goes down for each race...they can't get a refund then!

I don't drive, but I've learned to not get excited about a deal or a race until I board the plane.

As a driver, it can be recalled way after that point! I've had friends in their firesuit getting ready for FP1 and the team owner told him that if he hadn't made it by this age, he was fired. Done. Right there and then.

That's rough. My career is still young, but I know of people, can't give too much detail on connections, who have had drivers leave after qualifying. Not in a small series.

Yup. It's an eat or get eaten sport. Not for the faint of heart or people who like to stay employed when they do a good job...

Good luck on your sponsorship, you know more than I, I just keep the car on track and observe the "suits" do their part. I don't even know what our sponsor is for next season.

Look up Go Ahead and take the wheel by Dave Gran. there is a whole chapter on getting sponsors.

I've been through some of that as a racing mechanic, but likely not enough to help your cause because I try to stay out of that side, for obvious reasons. If you need a wrench with rally and touring car experience though, I'm your guy. Best of luck!
