I was clicking through our online payroll trying to calculate my taxes and saw a paycheck for tomorrow when we just got paid last Friday. A few more clicks and saw under the "Bonus:" headline, a nice sum sitting there. I have a feeling my boss will call me into his office later today and tell me that I'm getting a bonus AND a raise, but for now the bonus feels nice.
Germany, here I come! My in-laws are going there for their 60th birthday in June/July and invited everybody to come with. We just have to pay our tickets there and then food/lodging will be taken care of by our in-laws.

Nice, and congrats!
I'm going to Germany next fall for work, and am taking a week of vacation after (since work is paying for the plane ticket).
Now you can use that bonus money to rent a car and go drive the 'Ring!!!

I'm jealous.. I deserve and need a raise, wont happen. also wouldn't mind a small bonus either.. also won't happen.. That's what I get for working for a mega company that's majority share holder is a fucking hedge fund...

nice! That's how I find out about my raises, they get loaded into my "compensation history" before my boss ever talks to me about it.

I'm staying for a few extra days after the in-laws leave and visiting France with my wife, then seeing a friend who lives in Dutchyland (the Netherlands)

Everybody deserves a bonus if for nothing other than paying for the holidays. And raises should automatically happen for inflationary reasons

we can get upto 4% a year, or basically $1000, or $19 a week. which after taxes I might see like $10 extra in my pay check. woo fucking hoo.. the worst part is the company restructured a few years ago and now there is about a 10k gap in pay between me and some one doing my job that started 2 years before me..

I can't remember man, i have seen this probably 17 - 20 times but never in one full go only bits here bits there. Was great what I saw, but I don't like to sit still for such long periods of time.

DDR is the acronym for Deutsche Demokratische Republik (East Germany). I would guess the DDR Museum would have a lot of Cold War type history stuff in it.
