"Too many M's" (toomanyms)

Sorry if this is a repost. But I saw some new head-on renders of the new M2. I keep waffling back and forth between waiting for this or selling my E90M and getting the new F80 M3.
These pics and having seen the Long Beach Blue (rumored production blue at release) it makes a strong argument for it. Sorry for the photo fail, uploading isn't working for me at the moment. I've linked to the pictures from Bimmerpost.

I'm almost certain I saw a black test mule pass me going the opposite direction yesterday. If it wasn't the M2 it was a wonderfully modified M235i. It had more muscular rear quarters, black zcp type wheels that were almost flush with the fenders, black mirror covers. I wish I had time to get a pic of it with my phone. There a BMW building with a few garage doors on the bottom story 2 miles from where I saw it that is always getting deliveries. I saw an I3 being delivered there a year before they were on dealer lots. I suspect it's a test center.

There have been a couple black test mules going around, one is probably in the states by now. The BMW "insider" on Bimmerpost says they're also doing cold weather testing Sweden.

What engine setup is the M2 rumored to have?

It's supposed to be an uprated version of the N55 rated around 365-380hp with 6-spd manual and DCT options.

I'd definitely wait to hear the first round of reviews before I made a decision.
Have you test-driven an F80 yet?

I have driven the F80 a couple times now, it truly is a beast that punches way above its weight class. I wish the dealer would get a manual demo car, but the DCT is still pretty fun and can dig out of any corner in nearly any gear whereas I'd have to downshift to get the S65 in the proper range. If I were to get one I'd sell the E90M and my E36M track car since it could easily fill both roles without a hitch. Just a change of brake pads and fluid.
Or I could keep 'em all and get the M2 when it comes out. :)

The latter option is the better option. Ha!
Honestly, I think you'd regret letting the other two go in the long run.

I think I would...which is why the M2 is sounding better every day :D
Have you had a chance at the F8X yet?

No I haven't, and I'm honestly not that enamored by it so far. Much more interested in the M235i and M2 as possible options down the road.

The styling of the M4 is not as impressive to me. It's sort of growing on me, but I saw one with winter wheels on it in Alpine White and still thought it was the 435i M-sport. A big compliment for the 435, but not so much for the premium M4. The M3 I dig a lot more, plus it's more practical. Funny enough, the F8X uses more fuel on a track day than the thirsty E9X with the S65. Riddle me that Batman.
It's worth a drive though, the performance is outstanding and the EPS is actually pretty good. If they can improve on it in the M2, I'd personally lean more towards that to enhance my garage.

I look forward to hearing what you end up choosing!
