These are the recommended maximum tipping angles of the Landy. This app has really helped me to understand exactly how much I'd fill my pants if I ever took the Defender to its limit. Incline/decline I can handle, but 45° bank? NOPE

Kinja'd!!!

Post some crazy off-road angles to give me the fear!

Had a Disco at 45° before. To get from one field to the next you had to drive a steep hill then turn left, get out and open a gate, drive through, get out and close the gate then turn right and continue up. The driver's door felt like it weighed a ton to get in and out. My passengers were as white as a sheet, it's only when I looked through the passenger window I realised we were looking about 100 feet straight down the hill. Bumcheek clenching moment indeed.

It's moments like that when you find adrenalin is brown.

Yeah, 45 deg on a smooth surface in low gear with no cargo and short passengers. You roll over anything bigger than an ant and you're in trouble...

Although if someone wants to lend me their Defender, I'd try it!

Im puckered up tight enough to make diamonds at mid 30's sidehill in the cruiser. 45? hell nay.

Exacto. I need to buy an inclinometer to see how far I actually go, but I'm damn sure I'm under 30 and that feels just fine!

I use this. Mounted in the car, you can calibrate it and its pretty close when I compare it to my inclometer compass. This one peaked at 36

Do you know of any good dash mounted analogue versions? I have a fairly decent app but the phone gyro is too sensitive, especially on rough ground. It bounces around all over the place. I've thought about re-purposing some aircraft instruments as most of the 'meters on the market look a bit cheap :/

scour the junkyard for montero, trooper pods. Should mount pretty easy to a defender dash.

Good thinking Batman. I didn't know they had them as standard, and I've seen a stripped Pajero in a local yard. Let's hope no-one else wants that shitty plastic dash!
