We did this before I think (probably a few times). What are some automotive opinions that you just don't agree with?
I've got a bunch, here are a couple.
Most people seem to think that Toyotas are boring and beige.
My truth is that they really aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Are there more engaging vehicles out there? I'm sure there are. But, I think Toyotas excel at what they're meant to do. Provide decent transportation at a low cost. I've driven some modern Toyotas I don't find them any worse than any other modern car I've driven in a similar class. Depending on how you drive it, a Toyota can be fun. Even a Corolla. My wife's Corolla I actually don't mind driving. The only thing wrong with it is it's just a little lacking in legroom.
Another statement that I just can't agree with are Alfa's are beautiful cars.
I don't think I've EVER seen an Alfa design that I actually like. That stupid trademark grille just looks dumb on everything they put it on. I just don't get what people's obsession is with these cars. To me they're some of the ugliest cars on the road.

Basically any armchair engineering or industry speculation from people who clearly are not engineers or involved in the auto industry makes me roll my eyes. There's a reason we don't "just do it that way!"

The Mustang is crap, always has been, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
The Hellcat is stupid. Oh, you've put a big engine in a mediocre family car? Good for you, Dodge. Way to show how far you've come.
Power numbers are meaningless.
0-60 times are meaningless.
Weight and chassis configuration are everything.

I had a corolla. I'm pretty sure they test fit the drivers seat using apes. Either the steering wheel is too far away or the pedals are too close. I never got a good position. Ever since I got my 3 my neck/back problems are mostly gone. I don't know if it's from better seats or better driving position.
For auto opinions I don't agree with I'll have to say: Ferrari in general. I don't think they're what everyone hypes them to be. There is not a single modern Ferrari I want to own. Drive? Absolutely. Own? No. I would take a modern Porsche or Lamborghini any day over a modern Ferrari. I also think Ferrari red is over rated. I think every Ferrari looks better in any other color.

Well I've always thought the current generation of Mercedes' SL is quite the looker, but I saw a post about it somewhere and I guess LOTS of people disagree with me. Didn't know that.
Also, I think automatic seat belts are the shit.

I guess it depends on how tall or big you are. I just wish there was more room side to side in particular in the Corolla. When I had a Mazda 3 (assuming that's the 3 you're referring to) had excellent seats. I never took it on any long trips, but I don't think I would hesitate to do so either.
And I'm 100% with you on the Ferrari. I don't think I've liked a single Ferrari design since the 80's. Ferrari's look so much better in black. Or white.

Let me elaborate: I think turbos on small displacement engines are a wasted opportunity for a 6.2l Turbocharged Hemi V8 Monster Engine swap. I think COMMON after market applications of turbos are a crutch

The Aztek wasn't crap. If it was, we wouldn't have had the copycats. It basically started the whole "sports crossover" thing. Okay, points deducted for the latter, but still
There is replacement for displacement. Especially when you live at elevation
Front wheel drive is not wrong

Cars I Like:
Acura ZDX.
Pontiac Aztec.
Hondas.
Most Toyotas.
I don't much care for the Miata, FiST, or FoST.
Turbochargers are for the weak.
I hate Ferrari.

You cannot deny the advantages of synthetic atmosphere generation, especially when living/driving between 6,000 and 12,000 ft.

Oh I completely can see the benefits up here in the rockies. But I think people need to stop Turboing every thing for economy or to make their corolla "fast" and I use that term loosely

Agree with the aztek comment.
But there is no replacement for displacement. Boost is a substitute, a very good one. But still. And believe me, I know what you mean about high altitude.

Old Porsches are the most over-hyped cars in existence.
Also, there isn't a car made in the last 10 years that I'd buy. (The only exception being maybe a 1M)

No biggie, I looove FI myself. Only reason I say that is, say you go from a 5.3 V8 to a 6.0 V8, you will make more power for obvious reasons everything else staying equal. But there are waaay to many variables to get into it. I currently live, where in the summer, the DA altitude gets well into the 5k range. Working on finding a nice place along the coast though. Sea level here I come.

Yup. Mazda. Their seats keep getting better. I thought my gf 2012 was good but a little lacking on really long drives. My current gen are near perfect for me.
There's a dark blue I sometimes see that I like a lot too. It's a shame that having a Ferrari not in red brings down the value despite red being the most common.

After driving a 94 Saturn across the country and back I agree. We stopped in flagstaff to get the car checked out because we thought the clutch was going out. The mechanic came back and told us the clutch was fine and our problem was we were driving a car with under 100 hp at sea level and now we were a mile above.

I lived, in Denver, with a 122hp automatic Focus. After losses, I was putting maybe 66hp down. When taking a jaunt up the twisties? Probably got as low as 50.

Fine, I'll use more:
Weight savings. Torque band. Off-throttle fuel savings. Spool noise. Smaller packaging. Tuning Potential. Power at altitude. Anti-lag. F40. 959. P1. One to one.

Given your name, I just had an image of this guy driving a Prius
I don't think I'd have too much of an issue driving a Prius. In fact, the last new vehicle I bought I considered a Prius C, but ultimately went in another direction.
For 98% of my driving a Prius would work fine. Is it a fun car? Probably not. But if you really need a fun car get a second one you can tool around in on the weekends.

Giant daily driven cars for the work-commute. Crossovers, Bro Dozers, Range Rovers, oh my! Might not be an unpopular opinion here, but it's certainly unpopular out there in the real world, where 99% of drivers are mentally challenged.

Here are some opinions I disagree with:
The E-Type is a pretty car
General Motors is on a comeback
The previous gen Mustang is the best-looking retro styled muscle car
The current gen Mustang looks good
The C7 Stingray is a radical departure from previous versions
Wagons are awesome
Hatchbacks are awesome
Four-bangers are cool
Real cars must have manual transmissions
Real drivers must prefer manual transmissions
