I keep hearing that the new Mustang's front end is a blatant rip-off of the current Aston Martin design language...
... but...
Now I know, the 1969-ish Aston Martin V8 looked like this:
... but that doesn't look much like the Mustang II, does it? I don't think so. I think the Aston looks more like a Maverick or Vega than anything... Especially considering something like half of the cars of that era shared many of these design features.
THAT is the key, placing yourself in 1974 and saying "does this Pinto-stang look like an Aston Martin?" I bet your past self would give your future self a funny look, light a cigarette, and jump in a 4 door Maverick and leave.
So I guess I'm just saying this: Does the current Mustang look like an Aston Martin? Not any more than it looks like any other old car.

Ford, Aston, Jaguar, Volvo, Mazda are all going to share some DNA now, but nobody moreso than Ford/ Aston Martin. I don't know about all this "ripping off." When a multinational concern has the means to acquire a manufacturer in its entirety, I don't think the term is "ripping off" or "appropriating" or even "taking," but rather "using what is theirs" or "using the experience gained by owning a company to take their company in a like direction."
There's nothing new under the sun.

I can see it a bit. But Also I am a rare Mustang fan that likes the II, I got my 1st ride in a V8 and mustang in a '78 Cobra II, so they will always have a special place in my heart.

I did a whole joke post on this some months ago. There are at least four generations of Aston that closely resembled contemporary Fords, going back to the very first models.

I'm very pleased to say that nothing about the 2015 Mustang (which I like) reminds me of the Mustang II in any way.
And as far as the 2015 Mustang resembling the Aston Martin design language, I think you need to look at something more like this:
And I also don't think it's insignificant that when you do a google image search for Aston Martin grille the following is among the first results:

Why are you saying the Aston looks (or doesn't look, for that matter) like a Mustang II, Maverick, or Vega? The Aston came out BEFORE. How can something older look like something newer?

I always thought it was quite innovative of Ford that they rip off design features of brands it does not own.

I am well aware of the introductory date of the Aston Martin V8. I'm saying that if you step back into the late 60s or early 70s you will find that a lot of cars shared a lot of design language. It was a sign of the industrial design and engineering culture of the times. I believe that the 2015 Mustang and the current Aston line-up both pay equal homage to their past designs and that's why they look alike to some people (though not to me).
I don't think the Vega, Maverick, and Mustang II were meant to look like the older Aston V8 (maybe they were, but I doubt it). I think they all managed to look alike for cultural reasons. That's what people expected cars to look like at that time. The current Mustang draws on the past Mustangs which were born of the same cultural design soup as the Aston V8. It's a temporal mess, so I hope you can follow...

It doesn't look near as Aston Martin-ey as the Fusion.
