"Twingo Tamer - About to descend into project car hell." (oppisitelock)

Now that there's sometimes a 106 rallye like this parked up on a road I ride by daily, I've started wondering if I should get rid of my hub caps and paint the steel wheels white. My car obviously isn't as cool as the rallye but I think the look might suit it.
My car looks kinda like this without the alloys and roof bars.
Thoughts?

Nope mine fits four adults pretty reasonably.

I support painted steelies. Body color matched often looks good, though I'm not sure if it would in this case White will probably be a pain to keep clean/looking good

I think it'd certainly be an upgrade over plastic caps.

I don't think I'd like to go body colour. Plus white wheel paint is a lot cheaper and more hard wearing than getting some body colour mixed.
You do bring up a good point though, I haven't washed my car since buying in July so white might end up looking pretty shabby.

Aren't you upgrading in the near future? Since I'm guessing that would hurt the resale value. Also the 6 spoke wheels suit the Panda really well IMO.

I originally intended to keep it a year then change since I could afford the insurance on something better, but to be honest I've warmed to it so much unless it has reliability issues I'll keep it a while.
I can always just put the hubcaps back on when I sell it too.
I like the alloys as well, can't afford to upgrade to alloys though unfortunately.

It's an idea, but the paint (and also the preparation before) must be well done.
And what about alloy wheels ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Romeo…

I don't think I mind about the looks enough to pay for alloy, plus three of my tyres on these wheels are brand new.
I've painted before so getting a decent finish wouldn't be a problem.

White is a good choice for steelies. Maybe you can add some red stuff...
(yes it's alloy rally wheels but I love the color scheme)

Oo I wish I could afford wheels like that. Couple those with 100hp springs to lower the car slightly and it'd be pretty cool.
Red accents could work on white steelies though, maybe a pin stripe around the centre of the wheel. That might be slightly beyond my abilites though.
