There have been lots of "OMG Finals" posts, and I've been there, so I wanted to help out. For everyone that's currently in school slamming through the last few weeks of the year, here's a comic courtesy of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to give you a quick chuckle about reality.

Kinja'd!!!

Stay tough! I say this because I busted my ass through five years of school, holding down two jobs, and being in a fraternity. I know what it's like to have an exam Monday morning and the Saturday before that cute girl (or cute guy) from your other class wants to go see Casino Royale and then get hammered. You've gotta balance the learning with some fun or you'll burn yourself out.

I can't be the only one on here who's graduated in the last five odd years (or those who now have a "big kid job" now) and remembers what it was like to not have "grownup" responsibility. It was awesome.

theandysho : My name actually is Andy, by the way - I am your typical dorky late-twenty-something, and I travel the United States for work during the week. On the weekends I mess around with cars, videogames, and a dozen other hobbies I try to find time for. I occasionally author posts on Oppositelock and usually they're kinda cool... follow along and see where I wind up.

I like this, as a soon to be 22 year old Senior about to graduate and enter the work force in June I know how this feels. Names Andrew, nice to meet you!

Thanks. I have my first final tomorrow. Somehow I've managed to get good grades and go out and get hammered almost every night of the week this semester

Dude[ette]. Trust me. You're young, resilient, flexible and adaptable. Relish it, rub it all over your body, rejoice. Also, where do you think the foundation for the dreams illustrated come from? You got it - the *Now* and you, my friend, are living it.

Besides, you haven't had enough time to kill enough brain cells to garner sympathy.*

* PS: Spoken like a true old person.

PPS: It's just a phase, and a short one at that. Push through, crush it, make it yours. Why? Because more is coming, 'Winter is Coming', and it's just life in general. If you get used to doing that now when it's coming at you hot and heavy, you'll be able to deal lateron. And here's the tasty tidbit - if you can do this now, survive and thrive, then it'll pay off (generally speaking, but not a little, a lot!) later in life. It will. I, random internet commenter, guarantee it.

Push it. You'll feel the same thing in college, that first fucking job, the second one...until, until... you figure out what's up *for you*. I have met over 50 some years only a couple people that *truly* knew who they were when they were young. (I'm not one of them. I was 30 before I got a glimmer.) You have to keep .. and I fucking hate this... "performing" until you break the inside of yourself free and understand what it is you should be doing. The second that happens, you get to choose, make decisions that everyone around you think is *crazy*, and follow your own path. You can't do that without a foundation.. and the only thing we (this society) has to offer you is HS, College, First Jobs, etc. Unless you have an auntie or uncle that could help - it's almost never your parent. (Old tribal saying: the parent is the last person to see the the true gifts of their child.)

Obviously I'm a random internet commenter.. but if there's something here that makes sense, run with it. Throw out the rest. I don't own any truth except for what I've figured out for myself.

Oh, and pro tip. Definitely go to the movies with the girls (guys) that ask you, thats usually an A+ decision from my experience.

Completely true. Heart-poundingly true. Don't forget desperately running around without clothing with zero explanation whatsoever.
