For half-assing it.

Come on, matte wrap that black on the back and the roof/buttresses. All or nothing.

I would like it a lot more if the car and rims were gloss coated but the matte sides and rear "911 section" mixed with gloss on the flying buttresses, roof, remaining black section of the rear, etc...looks unfinished at best.

The "car of the future", "paint-scheme of the past".

But, for real, it was in to check a grounding bolt on the gas tank that may cause a leak when improperly installed (mine got the all-clear Friday, no replacement gas tank necessary).

I would like it in gloss (some McLarens came in this combo that way) but the matte is trying too hard...although an argument could be made that the i8 itself is trying too hard to begin with.

I can dig that color combo, but the execution is off. They need to matte wrap the black section and roof/buttresses. It looks half-done.
