Maybe someone can help. I purchased a bluetooth speaker on Amazon on Nov. 30 to give to my mom for Christmas, and now that same speaker is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Does Amazon retroactively apply discounts if you contact them and make a stink? If I request a return slip and mail mine back tomorrow and immediately purchase one at the sale price (assuming the deal is still going on), will that raise any eyebrows on their end?
UPDATE: Got dat refund, though they did give me crap about being a day outside the 7-day window for this kind of thing

They likely will refund you thought it will likely just be an Amazon giftcard.
This is from Lifehacker, showing what might work.

I'm with Lumpy. You lose nothing by asking. And even if you only get Amazon credit, you can buy something else for Christmas with it.

Well, that seems to be the perfect link I was looking for. Thanks!

I bought the James Bond box set from Amazon back in September. The next day, the price dropped $20 or 30 (gold box deal of the day or something). They refunded me the difference to my card. It may be because the charge hadn't cleared, so it was an easy fix on their end.
Definitely call/email and ask. If they say credit or shove it, just return it and buy the deal price if you don't want the credit and would rather have the cash.

I'd take credit, I always need shit from Amazon.

Yep, I've sent them a note a number of times and they just credit my account.

Well there you go home skillet. And unless the computer system locks out any order modifications after a certain amount of time, you shouldn't have any trouble. I can assure you those CS people don't get paid enough to give a shit. They're going to do whatever they can to get off the phone as soon as possible, with as little trouble as possible.
