I'm never certain if it's better to teach things to children or just let them figure it out on their own. A little bit of knowledge can be a very bad thing....

She was trying to use it, but hadn't quite completed the cause/effect loop of the lever and the water flow. The really funny thing is that it was with a dollhouse cup, so about two ounces in size. She was "filling" the cup and trying to drink repeatedly, without figuring out how to produce flow - which apparently she did get it to do semi-accidentally last week.

Once all the pieces were together, there was some infatuation. Fill, sip, fill, sip. Then, of course, it was off to the larger cup-like-object-with-holes-in-it. All this in someone who, I think, has only been walking maybe five months.
