Put her in the passenger seat, let her shift. Then put her in the driver's seat and let her work the clutch while you shift. Her hand on yours once she gets the clutch, then put 'em together. I've taught 4 or 5 significant others to drive stick that way. It. Can. Work.

What year? I'm so jealous..

If it were me: don't bother making it an off-roader, it'll suck unless you go all out with new bumpers, etc. And there isn't a mass producer of lift kits. I'll admit, they do look fucking awesome lifted and offroad ready..

Get nice OEM wheels (off a 4.4) and throw some 4.8is suspension goodies on it. They handle surprisingly well, dare I say like a taller bmw sedan.

I made a lift kit for my x3, put taller tires on it and it still hadled amazingly...

Damn it being a 2006 makes me want it even more. I'm so jealous, I spent a year looking for one for my dad.

Ah yeah we talked about your X3 before. Looks great.

If I had an E53 a lift kit would be great. Hell, a slightly lifted E70 would really appeal to my dad but I bet the suspension on that is a little make tricky.

I'm trying to bring my BMW (E90) a little lower to the ground lol. Shopping for suspension mods now.

I've got a BMW 2002 and a 6-speed Wrangler. I can only drive stick. Ahaha. Out of my immediate family, we have 7 cars and only one of them is automatic, and it's actually my grandmother's car but my dad owns it. Your X5 would be right at home ;)
