So I was underneath my car yesterday, changing the oil and prepping it for storage, when suddenly I laid my eyes on one of the most horrific things known to man - frame rot. Just the left-rear extension, but it's a huge PITA anyways. I just spent the better part of 100 bucks on the car, anyways. Whelp, time to take a vacuum cleaner to my bank account. Oh the joys of owning a $1,000 car.
Have a Grand National for your time.

I know the feel. I just scrapped a car due to frame rot. Ended up transferring all the worthy parts to a Southern rust free body first though.

Don't worry, I found the rear extensions for $150. Now to find a shop to drop the gas tank and weld it in.

Rot and Rust can make you feel like all you have done was for naught, When It is just a small blip in the scheme of things. I felt a good range of emotions laying eyes on my essentially "Rust Free" ADUB. "All You need to do is fix the back quarter" Echoed in my mind as my eye's laid sight upon 2 rust holes and damage that may have happened after a 17 year old brother of the previous owner may or may not have Hooned it.
But at the end of the day, You'll fix it and put that thought in the memory back as you smile driving your 1000 dollar car, looking past all the rounded eco boxes in you Awesome G-Body and making it Shuffle.

Having been raised in the rust belt I suggest you move to SoCal. I've had the pleasure of many nice rust free cars in the $1000 range
