This Cadillac dealer is selling 2014 CTSs for $17,000 off MSRP.

It's not even adding the discounts like military or student or whatever else. It's $6,000 GM rebate, $4,000 GM loyalty cash (which my parents would certainly be eligible for), $2,000 GM bonus cash, and then $5,000 dealer bonus cash.

Kinja'd!!!

CTS 3.6 AWD Luxury: $60,780 MSRP, $43,780.

Trade in the Vue for the $6,800-ish it's worth on trade-in, use my dad's supplier discount and they could get a $60k CTS for more like $30k. This sounds like a wonderfully horrible idea.

At this rate I'm trying to figure out how GM makes any money on this at all.

Welcome to the end of the model year and the end of the year combined :) but I do believe you sacrifice 4k of that discount if you want the special financing rate.

Yeah its a caddy. They routinely sell for 10k or more off msrp.

I don't know why American car companies insist on pricing their vehicles too high and then offering lots of discounts and dealer incentives to make up for it. It's acceptable on their pickups and normal cars but it looks weird as fuck in the luxury market.

Lmao, nearly 61K for a CTS. And it's not even a V.

What a pipe dream. CP.

It may be easier to talk your parents into this CTS. http://www.bommaritocadillacstpeters.com/VehicleDetails…

or this ATS AWD

You do understand the CTS competes with the 5-series. Which I can get a RWD 528i to sticker for $60k without issue.

I still don't understand how it's overpriced. It's prices are in line or a little better than the 5-series that it competes with. The ridiculous discounts are just dealers way of unloading the now old 2014s.

I think you lose the loyalty cash for the rate. But still god damn Cadillac,

Sure do. But I would never take a CTS over a 5 series, personally. It appears few other people would too as GM is slapping on discounts left and right.

It's overpriced because the CTS shouldn't really be positioned against the 5 series. It works much better aligned against the 3 series.

And that's how the market sees it. Which is why Cadillac constantly has to offer these discounts because the units aren't movin fast enough. It's not like we're talking one or two holdovers. It's well known that you can get a CTS or ATS for way less than MSRP.

This is the new reality and it's just weird that Cadillac keeps trying to pretend like it doesn't exist. Just set the MSRP lower and call it a savvy buy. The current buyers already know they can get it cheaper and you get more people who would otherwise think it's out of their price range.
