I've got a Leaf that's killing EVSEs, a Golf with a glitch in the airbarg harness and an emissions code, and now my frickin' racecar's been making strange noises all day and has decided I'm only allowed 3rd & 4th gear. Zero finishes from 2 starts, yay me!
Give me back my Jag! At least I EXPECTED that to be crap.

False advertizing as Grumpy Cat, and almost all Felines prefer immobile cars, preferably ones infested with fun rodents to hunt. Inky preferred our first apartment in Portland because it allowed her to play shrew ball, even though she is an indoor cat, and the shrew was actually a rat.
Seriously, try American Cars next time, as VW has become as bad as Japanese Cars for Parts and Service, and the LEAF is rather overweight, as it's development resembles that of a typical Military Jet, hence the Aluminum Panels.

A Volt will replace the Leaf and Golf!! Mine had a few software updates Early on but otherwise just tire rotations for two years and 30,000 miles. Plus, no range anxiety!

Not really an option in NZ. New Volt, $75k. Not as bad as it sounds, our dollar's worth less than yours and cars are expensive. But for comparison that's $5k more than a Golf R.
My 2YO grey market import Leaf, on the other hand, was $25k.

Years ago I had a cat that loved the engine cover on my Fiat X1/9, and used to ride down the driveway with me before hopping off. It was hilarious looking in the rear view mirror and seeing him staring back at you.
As to American cars, I have a Japanese car giving me grief, a German car giving me grief, and the American gearbox in my Australian car giving me grief. So I'm not feeling too much nationalist love for anyone right now.
American cars aren't really an option where I live, anyway. I'm in NZ, which is a RHD market. Basically the nly offerings are some of Chryslers less desirable ones - Ford & GM don't do RHD versions of US models.

New Zealand, does not make it easy to get a Domestic car unless you want a Trekka. The problem with the used cars from Japan, is lack of servicing, and the poor components Japanese versions. This does not leave many choices, particularly when you consider the cost of fuel. If Propane is available, I would have suggested converting a Holden or Ford. As there is an American company that makes a Propane kit for old American V8, I6 and V6, that had a carburetor. And if I remember correctly, New Zealand once had Fords that ran on either Natural Gas, or Propane as dual fuel. Which Chrysler's are available?

Wow! Yeah, that's a lot. I recall a conversation on the Volt forum from somebody in aussie who kept having trouble with their EVSE. Ended up they needed to water the ground rod at their house. The ground had become so dry the EVSE was detecting a ground fault!

Don't know yet. It's blowing up the internal low-voltage power supply on charger leads (EVSEs). Done it to 3 so far. Still trying to diagnose why. Warranty problem, fortunately, but the dealer's stuck in "no idea" mode and is hoping it'll magically go away.
