twice?! (Not a repost)
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
In my response to one of the posts about that barn find in France, I mentioned another such place that the owner of the LeMons project I'm on has visited.
I'm convinced that this find is even worse. Not only does it include even rarer cars, including two Miuras (one of which was CUT IN HALF to let a tree grow) and a class-winning LeMans Alpine-Renault A210, but he is pretty much unwilling to sell anything. That's not even the worst part though. In the article you will find out that none of the cars on this lot will be available even after the guy passes away. He has stipulated in his will that the entire lot of cars is to be crushed after he dies.
The owner of this lot apparently used to be a racecar driver himself, which makes this all the more infuriating and baffling. How could someone who calls themselves a racer want to destroy such an amazing collection of historic and rare automobiles?!
Please excuse me while I curl up under my desk and cry now...

Also, spoke with one of the guys on my LeMons team. Apparently the French government has said that they would never allow one of the LeMans cars (the A210 in Gombert's collection) to be crushed, but if it isn't rescued soon it could be too far degraded to be restored.

I swear to God, why do people do this?? I mean, if you have a building full of cars that you just no longer give a shit about..either sell them, or heck...give them away to anyone!
Trying to hang on to stuff like this because "It'll be worth something someday..." is the biggest load of bull ever. How much is this worth now due to neglect and general asshattery?
Use it, drive it, or freaking let someone else use it!

He isn't even looking to sell it though. Guys like this demand astronomical prices from anyone attempting to rescue any cars they posses, because they have no intention of ever letting them go. I mean, he has legal required that the cars be crushed when he dies!!! Who does that?!?!

He has stipulated in his will that the entire lot of cars is to be crushed after he dies.
Why? This screams some sort of mental illness. No way someone naturally thinks like that...

Another French barn going up for auction Feburary 2015. I know it's been said before, but what is wrong with the French? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lxA5kq…

Because hoarding. It's an expression of some form or another of mental illness.
