I think I need to get a for sale sign for my car

It's been over a month since I listed my BRZ for sale on Craigslist, and not a single email text or call has come, not even any spam calls or super low ball offers that I was expecting. I think I need to put a for sale sign in the window or something when i take it out for its weekly drive to make sure everything still works. Also it is a horrible feeling being stuck driving a 2005 Ford Explorer when I have a sports car in the drive way.

Double bummer, on your loss and the distance away. Maybe wait until end of january/february when many people have tax returns (what little they may get this year) burning a hole in their pocket. Did you try to go to Carmax or a local wholesaler?

going to go to carmax today, and I'm basically barely affording the payments each month. I was perfectly fine affording it when I was employed as a drafter, but the company I worked for tanked and the money I saved up is running out.

I'd suggest relisting it if you haven't updated it since the initial post. If something has been on there more than a few weeks, I tend to assume that it's not for sale still (not sure why, but I do). Also, since its a newer model and going to cost more, you might try Cars.com, Autotrader, or something similar.

Sorry to hear that brother, I just got laid off myself and the rent is too dayum high in Nashville. Granted they brought me back as a temporary consultant still fulfilling my former role but I am about to go through the job hunt again in less than 6 months. The economy truly is in the shittiest of states.

Nothing!? Not even some jagaloon trying to trade you his mother in-law for the BRZ? How much are you asking? My buddy always tells me how easy it will be to sell his supercharged BRZ, but I have my doubts.

Do you still have it listed at $24,000 with the mileage at 24,000?

If so, that price is sky high. FR-S (I know, not the same car) can be had for that new, and I see BRZs around that price new near me.

Used at dealerships with your kinda mileage are in the very, very low 20,000 range.

Sorry to hear you're having financial troubles, but that car is not going to move at $24,000.

Try a consignment dealer and see what they think you can get.

If there is one thing I've learned over the years from selling a lot of cars/bikes on Craigslist is that if you're getting absolutely ZERO calls, then you need to reconsider your asking price. Do some more research about what your BRZ is going for in your area and see if adjusting the price doesn't help.

How much are you asking? I think the problem is they are still too new. I could probably buy a brand new one for a couple thousand more or $25 more a month.

Too easy, it's winter. It's the worst time to sell a sports car or motorcycle. I wouldn't worry about it, it's also Christmas season / post black friday recovery so money may be tighter too.

the issue is with craigslist is you drop the price to what its actually worth and then you get low balled even further. The strategy of listing high and then selling low has worked or me in the past.

24k$ is my asking I'm expecting an offer for about 18-20. I never list near the actual price range or you end up having people asking for 10k less than what its worth. I had that issue selling my RSTi project where someone offered me 1k for it when the engine and drivetrain cost over 4k alone. I raised the price and ended up selling it for 4k.

Helpful Comment: Cars.com I have sold 2 cars on their and it was way better than craigslist. No flake or tire kickers.

Less helpful comment: Sell the explorer get some winter tires and put the left over in the bank to cover BRZ payments for until your back on your feet.

Just put price as firm. I mean, you're not getting any attention at all right now, right? You can always say no.

Just to give my perspective as I often try and find WRXes on CL that I'd be interested in and come across very high asking prices regularly: if I saw that price on there I would think that the seller is delusional on what the value of the car truly is and will be a PITA to deal with.

can't sell the explorer its my mom's car that I'm borrowing until I can buy another car. My options for another car are dwindling though, because I refuse to buy something boring and I want something that I can keep forever, yet my parents want me to buy something practical with AWD because for 2-3 months of the year I need to be able to drive over a mountain pass in the snow. I was looking at getting an 02-05 WRX but they're now well above my price range after I drop the price on my BRZ sell it and then pay back my loan.

I just dropped the price 3k it is now the cheapest clean titled BRZ on Portland's craigslist and there's still 2 heavily modded toyobarus with rebuilt titles that are more expensive. I really believe this car would sell for more stock.

That sounds about the right price IMO.

Those two rebuilt toyobarus will never move lol.

there were even more when I first posted it. I think they'll realize no one wants them, or they'll go to someone looking for a project track car and be sold well under what they're asking.

not yet and i just dropped the price on craigslist, but now I'm not going to bother negotiating. If someone wants a cheaper BRZ that's been meticulously maintained with a clean title they can either buy mine or a new one. Its is the cheapest clean titled BRZ on Portland Craigslist now at 21k.

Gotcha. I have heard that auto trader is the best, although I have no experience using it as a selling tool. I can tell you that 8 out of the 11 cars I have purchased were located using auto trader.

It was a great car for where I live. It didn't seem as down on power as everyone said, when I got it but after a year I was looking into boosting the performance a bit. With 250bhp it would be a near perfect sports car. The handling though is great I autox'd mine over the summer and it was a blast it grips pretty well with better tires and if the back end comes loose its incredibly easy to control. The issue I have wit it is that they're so affordable that theres a few douchey poser kids driving around that think they're in a fast and furious movie, but theyre easy to tell apart because they dont do the Subaru wave.

I flew to Oregon to buy my BRZ Limited. It had 2,250 miles. Gforce Rival tires, JDM exhaust tips, Rear diffuser, clear bra, mud flaps, camber bolts and he paid for a year of sirius for me and I paid $23,000 even.
I think you're high on price, but I know it sucks to take a loss. (Bought it in about April of this year)

Throw it up on the BRZ forum and FT86 if you haven't

I was checking all of those looking for a really clean un-messed with adult owned BRZ
