With the recent changes to the FIA Super License requirements, I wonder why this will not be in place for the 2015 season?
As per !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the FIA will not implement the minimum age requirement of 18 to obtain a Super License until the 2016 season.

If this is a change based upon safety, why is it not safe for someone under 18 to obtain a Super License starting in 2016 and not effective immediately?
I do like the new requirement that to obtain a Super License a driver has to compete for a minimum of two seasons in cars. I know, I know...Kimi Raikkonen only had 12 races in cars before his debut with Sauber and he wound up being the King Jalop and all around Ice Man. But after watching a few of Max's F3 races, he seems to not be ready. In a 15 lap race distance at Imola he went off multiple times and had contact over four times with other drivers in ways that were avoidable.
Let me know what you think about the future of youngsters in F1.

Because contracts have been signed and the FIA doesn't want to pay the difference.
While I don't believe that he should be in F1, shit happens.

Politics don't control things in F1 do they? Don't ruin it's innocence for me!
I think you're right. But, rushing kids into F1 cars is ridiculous. When Christian Horner cancelled my meeting because he found out I was 20, I knew it was a rush to find the youngest.

I think it's certainly possible for somebody younger than 18 to have the skills to be at least a competent middle-to-back of the pack driver. Of course F1 is about marketability almost as much as actual skill, so maybe STR and Red Bull see an opportunity in shoving somebody who might not be ready into a seat.
Same could be said about Haas, hypothetically, fast-tracking an American driver for the sake of having an American driver. People have agendas and the best aren't always the drivers on the track.

Marketability is one thing. But, a young man with little experience in cars cannot always be trusted to make the safest split second decision in a life and death situation.
As a 17 year old formula car driver, I knew I was ready for anything. But, Formula 1 puts a driver in situations that you're not prepared for without prior experience.
