toybaru twin...
OR V6 hyundai?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
V6 with brembos and manual, 70k km, 15K
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
this was the cheapest used twin (with a manual) in ontario atm. 43K km, 20K
I'm kinda leaning the korean on this one....though, if I tossed another ~7 K at the scion for a supercharger and some nicer wheels.....
whats oppo think? have a debate.

True. But it's just what I prefer. I'd rather have a lighter, slower car than a faster, heavier car.

the Genesis is quite underwhelming aside from (relatively) more power.
The Toyobaru is a better car for sure all around

mustang ints are farrr too plastic fantastic for me (yea, i've been in that gen. so bad. I've had plastic dishs made with higher quality plastic then the stuff they used in that heap)
+ high mileage
+ high insurance (because lots of mustang bros in my area)
+ mustang bro stigma
+ fuel econ = LOL

Also, damn I didn't realize they were so cheap now!

its still an option. GF likes the twins as well....
but still....V6 and brembos on the geni...and it wasnt exactly an elephant when it came out in terms of handling...
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

I actually dig the color on the geni :P
and I know! part of the reason I looked it up. id love a small RWD coupe at the end of uni, and I just causally look up the price and was AMAZED! i might even be able to afford one during uni!

Fractal Footwork has one, he seems to like it. I'm sure you'll be happy with either of them. I'm just telling you my personal preference.

me. I dont find fun in a car that takes an age and a half to get out of its own way.
I dont need a big bump in power. 250hp max, but filling in the bog is the big thing.

They're Brembos running OEM fluid and pads.

well, its cheaper to swap out pads and fluids then to buy calipers and then have to do pads and fluid anyways.

problem one: chevy
problem 2: pick up
kidding. truth is I want to start tracking motorcycles next year, and paying 100$+fuel for a rental truck each time might wear out.
but on the other hand...thats literally the ONLY reason I would want/need a truck. dont really feel like putting up with truck fuel econ just for that.
also, a cheap, used truck that has 4wd, a manual trans, and is made after the year 2000 and doesnt have a bajillion miles and isnt beat or rusted to shit is hard to find in canada (a car i can convince parents to help out on,. a truck id be on my own, and that bring the theoretical budget to 5K)

not as much where I am. here its mainly V6 autotragic mustangs and subarus that get the bro treatment. hyundais fly under the radar pretty well here.
and still doesnt help the interior of the mustang. jokes aside, where did they find such cheap plastic to make the thing?

Just based off of personal experience with my Elantra which is in the process of being lemon lawed. The company is awful to deal with. The warranty may look good on paper, but in reality, it is worthless.

I didnt even notice it had a warranty. i was more focused on 5k cheaper, 100+HP and brembos over toybaru
I hear hyundai canada is pretty good to deal with. freind of a friend's mom had something go wrong with her santa fe. they fixed it no problem...

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree on the Mustang interior. It's pretty shit. Honestly, I'd rank it as even more shit than the plastic on my C4 Corvettes.
I also totally understand that Mustang insurance is high, and it's because there are both more of them and more of them totaled . Want a cheap sports car that's both fast and actually good on insurance, buy a Corvette. Old-man-car status has its perks.
Out of the two you are looking at...I'd probably get the FR-S and save for a proper turbocharging experience. I think, in the end, it would be the much better car to have fun with. I don't know what you want to do with the car or for how long you want to keep it, though. I tend to buy cars for indefinite use.

here is the great part:
what I want to do with a car? is for it to be a truck. I want to start motorcycle tracking next year, and paying 100$+ fuel each time for a rental is going to add up. plus I can use it when going to school/coming back.
BUT. a small, fuel efficient (and by fuel effiecent, i mean 25mpg+) manual AWD trucklet for sub 5k (that isnt beat to shit or rusted) truck is IMPOSSIBLE to buy here in canada. the reason for the budget being so high here is because parents would probably help with a car. not with a truck.

I havent driven either but I've driven cars like them (current car is a 350Z). Cars like the BRZ are fun in theory or on the right road which is rare for most folks. Aside from the damn road noise and wet weather antics (from da POWA) I imagine the Genesis will be more fun more of the time.
Plus FWIW this guy is from Britain and test drives a shit ton of cars.... heres his test of a GC. Verdict: "Why dont we chaps get this lorry across the pond M8, its a bloody bargain"
Not to mention Febreeze twins have some new model teething problems I don't tihnk they sorted out. Only way I would get one would be if it came supercharged and with suspension mods I want.

From what I've been dealing with, the cheaper more well equipped option isn't always the best. After 9 attempted repairs, and no results, I have lost faith in the brand.

Yea, and any color other than yellow you could probably get out of a speeding ticket with "really, you clocked that on a Hyundai?" Is that thing calibrated properly?
